Irish midlands are celebrated in her work. She has been honored with awards from highly prestigious world competitions including the International Photography Awards, Fine Art Photography, BigPicture, Close Up Photographer of the Year and IGPOTY Macro competition. She has presented her work on many worldwide online platforms including the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) in November 2021 to promote the importance of the Irish bog wilderness. Her work is part of many art collections, including the permanent collection at Aras an Uachtarain.

Seems like I am going to have a wee hibernation over the following few weeks, just like this little Green shiedbug in wild carrot ❤️
Unfortunately I had a fall walking my dog, and have broken my arm...so I can't use my camera for a few weeks. And it's my favourite season!!! Luckily it is my left arm, and not my dominant right...hopefully healing will be swift! I will be delving into seasonal photos I have taken in the past over the coming weeks until I can get back out there myself again 💕 time to slow down and heal 💕

This little beauty is Lesser Bladderwort, an amazing little carnivorous plant. It doesn't get enough nutrients from the sterile bog conditions, and so has adapted to become a carnivore to get the nutrients it needs. The trap is not within the beautiful little flower, but within the network of undergrowth it grows from on the bog pool surface. Within this undergrowth, there are little bladder sacs that release a scent, their own chemical into the bog pool. This scent attracts tiny microscopic life, and when they swim near, the little bladder sacs open, and they a hoovered inside and digested. Amazing nature

Sometimes I can sense that I am being watched...this curious little grasshopper watched me as I was lying down exploring the living carpet with my camera ❤️

Such a stunning little day flying moth, the Six Spot Burnet moth. Those six scarlet red spots are hard to miss! Resting on beautiful Knapweed. What a regal creature ❤️

Always a joy to encounter the little Common Blue butterfly 🦋 this little one was very patient with me and posed so nicely, having a little rest on a leaf 💕

The sphagnum mosses are grateful for this deluge of rain after such a long dry spell... holding over 20 times their own weight in water, they are life giving natural sponges ❤️

It was such a pleasure to photograph the rare Pipewort wildflower in the heart of Connemara, at the edge of a bog pool, under the guidance of John Derwin of National Parks & Wildlife. Its little spherical head just mesmerising when viewed from the top!!!
What a magical place ❤️
