138km, One Gear, and a Massive Cause.

On 11th April, I’ll be joining my fellow members of the Clonaslee High Nelly Club for a challenge that is as much about heart as it is about heavy lifting. We are cycling from Croke Park to Shannon Harbour—a 138km journey along the Grand Canal Way.

Why BUMBLEance? We are raising vital funds for BUMBLEance, Ireland’s Children’s National Ambulance Service. They provide a "King of the Road" experience for critically and seriously ill children, transporting them to and from care centres and hospitals in a safe, fun, and stress-reducing environment.

For these kids and their families, a BUMBLEance isn’t just a vehicle; it’s a lifeline that turns a daunting journey into a bright spot in their day.

This morning, I was thrilled to discover the results of the Autumn Heat of this year’s Irish Professional Photographers and Videographers Association’s Annual Awards. To my great delight, I received three prestigious awards: two in the Creative and Fine Art categories, and one in the Landscape and Nature category. Each recognition is a testament to my passion for capturing the intricate beauty of our world.

*FUNDRAISING DAY, SUNDAY, 4 AUGUST*
We are delighted to share details of a fundraising day which will take place on Sunday, 4 August, in aid of St. Manman's Church Roof Restoration. It will be a fantastic day out with something for everyone!

What's in store on the day?
-1 p.m. Registration for the cycle in the Square. €20 per entrant.
-2 p.m. Get 'On Yer Bike' for a 10K High Nelly cycle in support of a good cause.
-4 p.m. With the bikes safely packed away, the Square will play host to an auction with a variety of interesting lots to bid for!
-6 p.m. Sit back with a nice drink from Hickey's and take in live music for the evening.
-There will also be a cake sale with a selection of goodies available!

A massive congratulations to Darren Kennedy who cycled 100km on the Waterford Greenway today (cycling a High Nelly of course). Darren was supported by members of the High Nelly club who cycled portions of the route and cheered him on. It's all part of extensive efforts for Temple Street. The next step will see him travel Route 66 in America in support of the children's hospital. Time for well-earned pints in Waterford!
