What an incredible day celebrating the marriage of Amy and Harry at the beautiful Hospitium in York! 

From the moment the day began, there was such a fantastic atmosphere, with plenty of laughter, love and some seriously good party vibes!

And I have to mention the roaming band, this was my first experience of one at a wedding and WOW… what a way to get everyone up, dancing and involved! They brought so much energy to the celebrations and were an absolute highlight of the evening. If you’re looking for something a little different to get your guests partying, I can highly recommend giving a roaming band a serious look!

Amy and Harry, it was an absolute pleasure to be there to capture your special day. Congratulations to you both, wishing you a lifetime of happiness, laughter and plenty more dancing!

✨ VENUE SPOTLIGHT: HOWSHAM HALL ✨

There are some wedding venues that you walk into and instantly think, “Wow.” Howsham Hall is definitely one of them!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting this stunning Yorkshire wedding venue with York Wedding Network, and what a venue it is!

Set in beautiful countryside just outside York, Howsham Hall is a truly spectacular setting for a wedding. From the moment you arrive, the historic character and incredible surroundings make an impression.

The hall itself is packed full of charm, beautiful architecture and those little details that make a wedding feel really special. Add in the surrounding grounds and Yorkshire countryside, and you have an incredible backdrop for everything from romantic couple portraits to those all-important candid moments with family and friends.

But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. Howsham Hall manages to feel grand and impressive while still having that warm, relaxed feel that makes you want to stay a little longer.

It was fantastic to bring the York Wedding Network community together here, meet the team and give our wedding suppliers the opportunity to experience the venue for themselves.

Why I founded York Wedding Network

When I started working in the wedding industry, I quickly realised just how many incredible wedding suppliers there are across York and Yorkshire.

But I also noticed something was missing…

A place where wedding professionals could meet, build genuine relationships, share ideas and support each other, without awkward 60-second pitches, styled shoots every month, membership fees or feeling like you’re constantly being sold to.

So, I founded York Wedding Network.

The idea is simple: Network | Grow | Collaborate.

And while YWN is primarily a network for wedding suppliers, there’s a huge benefit for my couples too.

When you book me as your wedding photographer, you’re not just getting someone who takes photographs. Through the relationships I’ve built within the Yorkshire wedding industry, I can also help point you towards trusted suppliers I know, like and have confidence in.

Congratulations Hillary & Stephan! 🥂

What an absolute pleasure it was to photograph Hillary and Stephan’s beautiful wedding in York this weekend!

We started the day at the stunning Milner York, where the bridal party got ready. The staircase there really is something special and makes for such a fantastic backdrop for wedding photographs! 📸

From there, we headed into the heart of York to one of the city’s most beautiful wedding venues, The Hospitium in the Museum Gardens, for the ceremony and reception. It was truly wonderful to see family and friends travelling from across the UK, America and Amsterdam to celebrate with Hillary and Stephan.

We were also incredibly lucky with the light for the couple’s photos in the Museum Gardens. And, even better, we had the gardens almost completely to ourselves after they closed to the public at 6pm, giving us the perfect opportunity to wander around and capture some beautiful, relaxed moments together.

Hillary & Stephan, thank you for trusting me to capture your incredible day. It was an absolute pleasure to be there!

As wedding photographers, we often see this comment in wedding forums and Facebook groups.

But what are you actually paying for?

It’s not just the hours we spend photographing your wedding.

📷 Shooting – capturing your day as it happens.
💻 Editing – hours carefully selecting and editing your images.
📧 Admin – emails, meetings, planning, contracts and gallery preparation.
🎒 Equipment – cameras, lenses, computers, memory cards and backups.
🛡️ Insurance – protecting our business and your photographs.
🏢 Business costs – software, websites, travel, accounting, advertising and tax.

So when you pay £1,500+ for wedding photography, you’re not simply paying for someone to turn up with a camera.

You’re paying for experience, preparation, expertise, equipment, editing and everything that happens before, during and after your wedding day.

And ultimately, you’re investing in photographs that will become more valuable with time.

🎉 Congratulations Mr & Mrs Atkinson! 🎉

What a day! Huge congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr & Mrs Atkinson, who tied the knot at the incredible Camp Kátur in North Yorkshire. 🥂💍

This was a wedding packed full of fun, personality and plenty of festival vibes! From games and a bouncy castle to colourful bunting and the most amazing handmade décor, every little detail made the day completely their own.

And speaking of handmade… the couple created hundreds of paper cranes to bring their vision to life!The amount of time, love and creativity that went into the décor was incredible, and it made the whole celebration feel so personal and unique.

A huge congratulations to you both! Here’s to a lifetime of adventures, laughter, happiness and plenty more festival-style celebrations. 🥂🍾

Feeling incredibly grateful

I’ve just received the most amazing Google review from my lovely bride, Sarah, and I honestly couldn’t be more thankful.

In March, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Sarah & Greg’s beautiful wedding at Leeds Civic Hall, and what a special day it was! Not only was it such a joy to capture their love story, but it was also my very first time photographing a wedding in a city centre outside of York, which made it even more memorable.

From the iconic surroundings of Leeds Civic Hall to the excitement of exploring a new city for wedding portraits, this day was one I’ll never forget. It means the world to receive such kind words from my couples after their wedding day, and reviews like this truly remind me why I love what I do 📸✨
