I love to tell the story of each family I meet - whether it's the bringing together of two families through a wedding, the start of a new family with a maternity or newborn shoot, or portraits of children and families. I offer both outdoor natural light photography and studio-style images in your own home. All my wedding packages include digital images as well as a printed album, so there are no hidden costs after the big day. Please visit my website for prices.

I need your opinions!… Which do you prefer?

The more classic posed shots or the ones that capture the genuine personality of little ones?

Swipe through and let me know which ones you prefer.

It’s always so tricky for me to choose which to share!

If you’d like gorgeous photos like these of your little ones, then I’m back at The Foxes' Den, Binfield for another pop-up mini-shoot on 21st September.

It’s free to attend - I’ll capture perfect poses AND pure personality, then you get to view them all online and choose which you’d like to buy.

Who can relate?

Summer is a juggle and it’s a genuinely good reason for your social media marketing to take a back seat.

But when you hate being visible and you’ve been putting it off, you’ve just lost a good reason not to show up.

I know I’m not alone in thinking ‘future me’ has it all sorted.

Pop a ❤️ if you can relate.

PS If you know you really do need to get back to being consistently visible but you’re feeling like this about it, I’ve got a free masterclass on Tuesday just for you - just ask for the details - it will kickstart your September content plan.

Controversial opinion… am I being mean or do you agree with this logic?

The logic AKA My no nonsense guide to using mics when talking on camera:

Do you need a mic? Whilst it will give you slightly better audio, it’s not really necessary if you’re indoors away from background noise.

If, like me, you want content to be as easy as possible, my honest opinion is it’s just one more thing to sort before recording. Removing barriers to showing up is more important, in my opinion, than improving audio quality.

To clip or not to clip? If you do use a mic, just clip it on to your clothes!

People hold them for one of two reasons.: 1. They’re worried about the rustling on their clothes (you can hear from the clip at the end of this video the sound is fine when it’s clipped on). 2. To act as a visual hook.

I believed most people are doing it because they’ve seen others do it or told it works as a hook. (I’m honestly not buying that it’s easier to hold clipped onto a variety of ridiculous household objects).

As an expert in visibility and showing up on video, let me tell you that the first time you do it, there’s a curiosity hook, but once your audience has seen it, my opinion is it’s just a gimmicky distraction.

This has bugged me since this became a trend a couple of years ago, but I’ve kept quiet. I didn’t want to come across as critical, after all it is a subjective opinion (albeit with some sound camera knowledge behind it).

I’m raising it now because more clients are asking me if they need to do it, and I think it’s just one more visibility hurdle.

That, and it’s getting increasingly ridiculous and I couldn’t keep it in anymore.

So am I being mean by calling this out? If you do it, I’d love to know your reasons (maybe I’m wrong).

This might surprise you, but I’ve been less visible and less consistent in August. It was all part of the plan and I’m not about to apologise.

If you’ve been less visible, disappearing completely or just not posting as much as you’d have liked, then these tips are for you.

Swipe through for exactly what I would - and wouldn’t - do.

If the thought of being consistently visible fills you with dread. Or you feel like content is always an afterthought, I have something for you…

Next week, I’m hosting The Content Kickstart free masterclass and you’re invited! Comment ‘KICKSTART’ for all the details and the link to join.

Have you realised yet that your logo is the least interesting part of your brand?

If you don’t believe me, let me ask you… Have you ever invested money in something because they’ve got a great logo?!

When you’re a solo brand, your clients buy from you because they’ve got to know you and like you. They understand how you can help them, and they trust you’ll deliver on it.

These three things build your brand so much faster than a logo ever can…

1️⃣ Showing your face, being visible as the human behind the brand, sharing your personality.

2️⃣ Understanding your ideal client - what they need from you and why they choose you. Stop trying to be for everyone and speak directly to the people you work with best.

3️⃣ Having opinions, sticking to your values, demonstrating your expertise by sharing what you believe - don’t worry about upsetting people who aren’t your ideal client.

I’m Abi and I’ll turn solo business into a personal brand that your clients can’t resist. Marketing becomes easier and you attract the clients you love. If you don’t currently think of yourself as a brand, but you want your business to grow, stick around!

For once I’m shutting up and letting someone else do the talking!

Swipe to see what my members say about Seen & Successful. How they now feel about marketing and visibility. What results they’re getting.

The doors have been closed for over 3 months. But I’m now inviting just ten more people in.

Will you be one of them? Comment SEEN for the details.

Honestly!

Please tell me I’m not alone…

This is why I’m on a mission to ban the word photogenic.

I know how to look great in photos. And then I look… like this!

There’s no such thing as photogenic.

With the right knowledge, the right person to guide you, and the right timing, we can all look amazing.

Without it… well, I’m evidence enough here 😂

Who’s brave enough to share their holiday photo fails in the comments?
