My name is Simon Lewis and I am a photographer based in South Somerset, UK.

I am a keen birdwatcher and have combined my passion for birds and nature with my love of photography. I took up photography again in 2013 after a long hiatus. I was a keen photographer in my early and mid teens and even applied for a job as a trainee photographer at the South Wales Echo when I was 17 and was accepted. I stupidly turned the offer down for reasons I wont go into but mainly because

I was stupid and 17. I started out shooting wildlife and sports shots but have now switched to landscapes and street style photography. I use a Nikon Z6 full frame mirror less camera and a variety of lenses to get my shots. My work has been featured in the countries biggest photography magazines such as Digital Camera and N-photo. I have won some major competitions and made finals in nearly 100 more.

Well here’s the first of a batch of shots taken chasing the incredible lightning storm we had across the south of the UK the other night. I had three storm cells surrounding me at one point whilst I was stood in an open field at the top of a hill….with a carbon fibre tripod, we’ll known for conducting electricity 🤡🤡⚡️
