Photography reinforced what my years of experience as an editor had already taught me about communication and perception.

Consistency for a recognisable brand. Quality for professionalism and credibility. Creativity to stand out in a crowded space. Context to shape how people interpret what they see/read.

But, besides all above, what I found the most important is the human factor. That's where authenticity stands. That's what makes the communication trustful. Relatable.

If we look at the mainsteam 'new tech gurus' there's a different picture.

All human approach, strangely, becoming an alternative way, or shall we say, almost rebelious.

How crazy is this really?

Do you think one day we'll ever have a human-centric technology instead of profit driven one? Will that short-sightedness ever end?

Purpose is not just what we do for a living, but why we do it. In the end, it is about building something worth carrying forward.

While summer is ending, my least favourite season, I'm only hoping to make it and any season special for my son. So he also can collect some joy, love and magic for grey grown up days. The kind of collection that reminds and shapes our purpose.

It is the meaning we create along the way, and what we leave within the people. Don't you think?

A bit about my thinking before the camera comes out.

Before this photoshoot for Pink Diamond, I didn't only focused on how to set the lights for the jewellery, backdrops or what the theme would be.

My focus was:
Who are we speaking to?
What do we want them to see in this brand? What they should feel?
What perception are we presenting (not creating)?

This brands key attributes are high-end, extravagant, elegant and regal, but without being old fashioned. So that's what we should deliver with the photographs.

It is not about manufacturing an identity or manipulating the perception. It is about finding the right visual language to reveal what is already there, intentionally and at it's very best.

How do you describe yourself? Are you a paradigm, a pattern... an ?
Or, are you a -shift, contradicting with patterns and creating your own?

I am not going down to what makes us that are we even unique at all anyway? (Also, uniqueness should not be confused with . They can coexist, but not necessary)

But one thing surely bugs me; the ask for constant polished, overly , unauthentic trends, and the willingness to be turned into a soulless stock image.

Is it because easiest way seems to be sticking to do what you think is tested and approved by mainstream?
But, what about your own voice, if you have one

Two photographs. Same person. Two very different moments.

You can build credibility before a word is spoken by a professional photo. With a well-crafted image, you can also highlight authority, presence and influence.

Professional visuals aren't there to make you look good. They shape perception. They contribute to the perceived value of your expertise, organisation and brand.

Next time when you choose to use AI generated or a stock image, remember that your visual identity is part of your reputation.

Last 10 years, photography and painting have become the major parts of my professional . But, my and background contains way more than these. I worked in editorial departments, led editorial teams, interviewed high profile individuals, wrote articles, created advertorials for brands. Also conducted geopolitical researches and assestments, even have a published book and papers on Russian geopolitics over Caucasus. Nevertless to mention the Master degree on War History and Strategy, Bachelors in Prehistoric Archaeology.

A diverse path. Although, working on creative ideas, expressing them, identifiying what something means and how it is perceived are common on all.

I can see how these atributes appeared in my photography work too. Created photographs that effects perception, positioning, credibility and reflecting and personality.

While the part of photography I most interested in stayed same, I am cold feet with the current expectations at the moment. The ask for constant polished, overly branded, unauthentic trends and willingness to be turned into a stock image is something I do not see the point for. Especially AI being used for pushing the unauthenticity mainstream.

Real, true to the origin, even if that means rough and not perfect, has earning more value than ever before.

If you agree this, you are my kind of people.
If not, I still love you.

Earlier this month I turned #50. Not with a big party or celebration, but a quiet and private one with my son and husband.

In the last 10 years, I had to adapt to major life changes. When I say major, these includes getting married, moving to a new country, become a first time mother while hitting the age of 40. I lost familiar networks, lost my professional status, cultural and language flow, and as if all was not enough to process, I started a business form scratch simultaneously carrying the responsibility of being a new mother, whilst no support system available even for absorbing ordinary daily challenges.

I thought I pulled it all very well. It seemed like I did so. People said I was doing great. From outside, I was a high achiever, productive, . All those photographs, artworks, a great portfolio of work, every sale, every testimonial was a proof for success, was not?

Apperantly that came with a cost I didn’t realise at the time. A quiet . Deep down not being able to give my best, and watching my potential draining day after day, while my identity and confidence being suffocated.

The last 12 months have been an avakening, identifying the subtly accumulated disadvantages and working on how to turn things around. Quiet interesting things are happening on this side now and ready for the next round professionally.

Also, I am still accepting belated wishes.
