Here's some more Long Eared Owl shots. Didn't quite manage the flight shots I wanted, with the bird or light always in the wrong direction but still great to see them. Very obliging birds, not really worried about people looking at them.

Had to have a trip out yesterday to try my luck with the Long Eared Owls. It's been a couple of years since I last went to this site and it was good to see a few different individuals. Plenty more shots to come once I've gone through them. Other shots were from Leighton Moss a few weeks back.

Glad to land a local Barn Owl over the weekend, in nice light too. There were a few about which was good to see, although most of my sightings were after sunset on way back to the car. Had some close range Stonechats over at Southport earlier in the week too.

So after a few computer issues (I really need a new one) here's the remaining shots from Rutland. Was made up to photograph my first Muntjac Deer and Marbled White Butterflies, which a kind lady in a hide put me onto. Plenty of wildlife around Rutland Water area, which was good to see. First tranche of Osprey shots from Rutland last week. Brilliant experience and I'm glad some of the shots came out ok. All dive shots were taken in low light, the last being just after 5.30am. We were lucky enough to land a fishing Red Kite as well, which I'd heard was a possibility, although the Kites generally take dead fish from the surface rather than diving into the water.

Glad to catch a young Kestrel before it fledged and then returned about 10 days later to find a couple still at the site...

Glad to catch a young Kestrel before it fledged and then returned about 10 days later to find a couple still at the site and being fed by a parent. Landed my first half decent images of a Cetti's Warbler over at Martin Mere too which I was pleased with as they're regulars heard but almost never seen, usually staying hidden in the reedbed.

My best from the past few weeks. Bickershaw was pretty productive and gave me my first Grasshopper Warbler and Small Copper Butterfly photographs. Sadly the light was too far gone to do much with the Cuckoo shots. Other shots were at White Coppice and Steart Marshes in Somerset.
