At the start of summer I photographed Mr & Mrs Walters’ wedding at Broadway Cinema.

It was my first cinema wedding and the low ambient light certainly made things more challenging. I had to push my camera settings throughout the ceremony and keep an eye on the noise levels. Thankfully I'm no stranger to off-camera flash guns so they came in handy to get the shots I wanted.
The traditional festoon curtain behind the couple was also a really nice touch, it gave the ceremony a lovely traditional theatre feel.

Took a visit to Gedling Country Park on Wednesday evening with my family. Using a 20 stop ND filter I was able to capture the moment.

A young chap approached me and asked if he could use my filter as he left his home. Of course I was happy to help him out 😊 I got the images I needed and I soaked in the moment which was luckily a beautiful summers evening.

This didn't carry as much of an atmosphere change the 1999 Total Eclipse did but it still was an impressive moment seeing it with my own eyes.

One of my favourite parts of photography is creating portraits that go beyond the person in front of the camera. Capturing the character, the story, and the emotion behind the performance.

For this image, the original idea was to capture a darker, horror-inspired side of Sadistic Sweeney. The plan was for theatrical blood to be part of the shoot, but it wasn’t used on the day, so I've used Photoshop's AI capabilities to recreate that element and also replacing a plastic meat hook for a realistic looking one.

This is the first time I've used AI modifications in Photoshop but used intelligently, you can create effects that add to the photograph rather than redraw the photograph which I'm not a fan of.

Shay returned to the studio recently for a second shoot. Whilst the gladiator helmet from our previous session wasn't used this time, a quick spray of water added something extra to the image.

The black and white edit really brought out the grit and intensity of the portrait, making it one of my favourites from the session.

Currently laughing that this took me 2 minutes of showing a poster I suspected was created by AI and making ChatGPT produce this for me.

It's disappointing to see many businesses now using AI to make posters. The question is why are these businesses happy to have the most generic AI poster ever? I know it's free to do and effortless but some aspiring teenager or struggling graphic designer could do much better and make a unique brand for your company.

AI is useful as a tool but to ask it to make a poster from scratch is soulless for your business.

Delighted that Ashley Vega came by my home studio for the first time yesterday! I don’t promote the studio much, so it’s amazing that word of mouth in the wrestling world is so strong, it’s the best kind of advertising and builds trust with new clients before they step into my studio.
