Tomorrow I’m heading back to one of my favourite Hertfordshire wedding venues… Knebworth Barns.

There is something wonderfully timeless about this place. The historic barns, beautiful architecture, sweeping gardens and the sense of history create the most beautiful setting for a wedding day — and an incredibly inspiring backdrop for wedding photography.

As a Knebworth Barns wedding photographer, one of the things I love most is the sheer variety of the gardens. There are quiet corners for intimate moments, beautiful backdrops for portraits, gorgeous light to chase as the day unfolds and endless opportunities to create something a little different.

It’s a venue where the photographs can feel effortlessly elegant without ever feeling overly posed.

And that’s exactly what I love about photographing weddings here.

I am always looking for the way you naturally look at each other, laughter between friends, parents watching you from across the room. Those fleeting moments that might only last a second, but become some of the most treasured photographs years later.

Then, when the light begins to soften, we can disappear for a few minutes and create those beautiful, golden hour portraits that feel like they belong in a wedding magazine— while still feeling completely like you.

Knebworth Barns really does offer a little bit of magic around every corner. 🤍

A pop of colour, cultural heritage and so much love. 🌸✨

This summer wedding at Coltsfoot Country Retreat was everything a wedding day should be — joyful, personal and completely them.

From the beautiful pops of colour and thoughtful details to the celebration of their cultural heritage, every part of the day felt full of meaning.

And then there was the love… the kind you could feel in the room. In the way they looked at each other, the laughter shared with family and friends, and all those little in-between moments that made their day uniquely theirs.

Perfect. Because I don’t want you to. 🤍

The best wedding photographs aren’t always about posing perfectly for the camera.

They’re about the way you look at each other.
A gentle touch.
The little laugh you didn’t realise I was watching.
Being completely caught up in the moment.

Your job is simply to live your wedding day — spend time together, enjoy your people, laugh, love and soak it all in.

My job is to notice those moments and turn them into photographs you’ll want to come back to for years to come.

That’s why choosing the right photographer matters.

Please forgive a slightly personal post — and perhaps a trigger for some.

I’ve realised that my own experience of grief has changed the way I photograph weddings.

Since losing my dad 12 years ago today, I notice the moments between parents, grandparents and their children so much more. The little looks, the extra-long hugs, the tears, the uncontrollable smiles — the moments that simply cannot be posed.

A wedding day is often one of the few times we have all the people we love together in one room. It’s full of pride, love and genuine joy.

I think, having experienced loss myself, I understand just how precious those moments really are and what a joy and comfort it is to have these memories to remember the good times ..

So if you’re planning your wedding, let’s make sure it’s not just the big moments you remember — but all the little ones in between too.

Louisa & George didn’t let the forecast define their day... they simply embraced every moment. 🤍

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary, Louisa & George! ✨

What a day this was...

Rain, wind, puddles, followed by the most magical golden hour. But the weather was never the story.

The story was the incredible energy in the room, a wedding party full of amazing friends, heartfelt speeches, a packed dance floor (thanks to an epic DJ who had everyone buzzing before the wedding breakfast had even finished!), and the sweetest moments shared with their children, who made the day even more special.

Whatever the weather was doing outside, inside was nothing but love, laughter and people celebrating two wonderful humans.

Here’s to a wedding day that proved the best memories are made when you stop worrying about the forecast and simply soak up every second.

Happy Anniversary, you two! ❤️
