It was August bank holiday weekend and you planned your wedding thinking summer sun and everything outdoors. Unfortunately Bank Holiday in August is notoriously unpredictable but that shouldnt stop you!!

The age old Wedding myth: you need perfect weather. 🌦️

You really don’t. Something will probably happen with the weather on your wedding day and honestly, that’s okay. This weekend has proven that over and over!

Clouds create beautiful light. Rain creates atmosphere. Wind creates movement. Sunshine’s lovely too, obviously, but it’s not the only option.

Some of my favourite wedding photos have happened in absolutely terrible weather. The laughter because of the rain and wind, the braving it to get a once in a lifetime shot at night.

The weather doesn’t make the wedding. The people do.

Save this for when you’re stressing about the forecast. 📌

Another wet wedding and another couple who absolutely embraced it! Nothing could put a dampner on this amazing intimate wedding at the stunning Cheshire Woodland Weddings.

We had the absolute best time from amazing portraits to me trying to beat Aaron and Chloe at archery and rifle shooting but alas Aaron was quite the marksman!!

Such a cool venue with amazing guest entertainment including a falconry display and Chloe getting slapped by Manny the owl 🤣

💧Chloe and Ross 27.08.26 - Hawkstone Follies!!💧

What a wedding to kick things off with at Hawkstone Follies! Chloe walked down the aisle in hand painted converse and a bouquet full of sunflowers and daisies, not a single worry about the rain outside, and that energy carried through their whole day. Those converse were the smartest call going, dress and trainers went everywhere together through the caves and over wet rock, and Chloe never once slowed down for it. If you’re planning a rainy UK wedding day, let this be your sign it can still be some of your best photos yet.

My first time photographing at Hawkstone Follies and what a place. A network of caves cut into the cliffs, easily one of the most unique wedding venues in Shropshire. No natural light and uneven ground everywhere, but working with the shadows instead of against them gave me some of my favourite and most unique images this year.

Then the party hit, golden confetti in the caves and a room full of people who clearly adored these two.

Loved every minute here and I’d be back in a heartbeat!

Hannah and Jamie 23.08.26 - The Wellbeing Farm!!

Such a wicked day being back at The Wellbeing Farm to photograph Hannah and Jamie’s wedding. From a bride being cut out of her T-shirt in the morning through to some incredible sunset photos and a wild dancefloor this wedding day had it all.

Not forgetting one of the best guest books I have seen with a “draw your self” picture board!!
