Fox cub images from 5 years ago. Not the best images I believe taken using a trail camera that I deployed overlooking the Den. I did capture another image of one of these cubs when I was out on a walk. He/She was looking through a patch of nettles and what sticks with me, was I the first human encounter and wonder what it was thinking about this strange looking back at me.
If I can locate that image I will add it here. Foxes have adapted and can be found across most parts of the globe. We have 37 different varieties, and our red fox is more cat like than dog. They have vertically slit pupils allowing them to see in low light conditions perfect for when out before dawn and at dusk.. And like cats foxes from the dog family are the only type that have semi retractable claws... They are like ghosts when moving silently in the woods as they spread their weight evenly. This gives me so much respect and looking forward to my next potential sighting of these beautiful wild creatures....
