Sophia and I are having so much fun. I am trying to create a fine art style portrait. It's not perfect but I am happy with the direction it's going in. Just got to keep practicing and getting those lights right. Even utilised the background I have been using for my pet portraits. It's a beautiful warm colour.

Meet Oscar. Stunning British Blue. Not quite sure why they call them blue when they are grey. However look at those eyes. I wanted them to stand out in the piece.

From time to time I scan back through the archives and apply new techniques I have learnt. I love this image of a bee on lavender. I have a lot of this growing in my garden this year, such a beautiful calming scent. If I can attract these bumble beauties also then everyone is a winner.

Do your kids love the outdoors ? Candid photoshoots and especially outdoors ones are where I feel most relaxed. The light this time of year is quite dull but with a bit of love and creativity we can create anything

Do you have images that you like but want to love ? Maybe the colour tone is wrong or they need just that extra little something to make them pop ?

I tried something different tonight.
I’ve spent a long time creating soft, comforting portraits… but every now and then a dog doesn’t feel delicate. They feel present.
This one isn’t about cuteness.
It’s about character.
The way some dogs look at you like they understand far more than they should. The quiet protectors. The shadows that follow you from room to room.
I wanted to see if I could capture not just what a dog looks like — but what they are.
I’m not sure where this style will go yet… but I think there might be something here.
Be honest with me — what does this make you feel?

😍 Having a really creative fun Sunday. The advantage to taking your own photos is that I have been able to look through my previous photoshoots to apply some new cool overlays I purchased. With some simple tweaking so I get the effect I am after, I have been able to turn Ryans portrait into something more creative. Love this and looking to apply it to some of the pet photography work I want to do 😍
