Final match of the season for Ammanford RFC - Clwb Rygbi Rhydaman U15’s, hosting near neighbours Cefneithin Juniors Rugby side.

It’s been a long, tough season for the hosts - who’ve had to rebuild a full new team, but progress is being made with the squad number increasing and players being fully committed and continually working hard and increasing the quality seen on and off the pitch.

Cefneithin came out of the blocks quickly and showed how good a side they are with a well controlled match, and some lovely attacking skills to gradually build a lead throughout the game.

Congratulations to both teams for their seasons, here’s to a well earned rest before the prep starts for next season.

Ammanford 5 - 55 Cefneithin.

Sunday was the big day - The Carmarthenshire GMG U13 cup final.

Ammanford v Llangennech.

To sum it up - what a game! Both sides left nothing out there and showed the true future talent coming up in the West Wales area.

In an extremely tight game, both teams traded scores with Llan opening the scoring early with a long range try, before Ammanford battled back and scored a few well worked tries of their own.

The second half was even tighter, with both teams throwing everything at each other and trading try for try.

In the end, Llangennech edged the result with a fantastic performance on the day.

Even with such a huge gap of emotions at the final whistle, it was wonderful to see both teams share a handshake and an appreciation of each others efforts.

And a quiet display of class from the runners up, lining up and applauding the champs as they lifted the trophy.

Result: Ammanford 26-31 Llangennech
