Silent hunter of the night, and daytime when the chicks arrive.

The Barn Owl, most loved of all British owls for its clean colourful plumage. With its huge (in relation to its overall body size) pan like face housing all it needs to get by. Eyes, Ears, and a beak to eat with.

All you need to see them in the wild is lots of patience and a ton of luck. Right place Right time.

A masterclass in texture and timeline. ✍️🎨

Look at the juxtaposition between the crisp, functional lines of the new city-centre apartments and the intricate, wrought-iron and brickwork soul of the old Leeds City Tramways Headquarters.

For commercial illustrators, this corner of Leeds is a goldmine. You have:
• The Old: Elaborate Victorian motifs and "The Leeds Look" red brick.
• The New: Glass reflections and geometric balconies.
It’s a visual narrative of how Leeds has evolved—from the grit of the transport revolution to the polished aesthetic of boutique hospitality.

It’s early in the morning in Whitby Bay, North Yorkshire. The sun is just beginning to colour the sky over the lighthouses of Whitby harbour.

The clouds are moving slowly to the east, but the sea is still and carrying the reflection of the rising sun's colour. Its only 6:30 in the morning but the lobster and crab fisherman are already at sea emptying their pots of the day's catch and rebaiting them to shoot for tomorrow.

This is the day you went for that early morning walk on the beach. Whitby harbour piers at sunrise in October. The sun just tinting the clouds with yellow and gold from the horizon upwards as it climbs steadily on its daily journey over North Yorkshire.

And this is that memory hanging on your living room wall to remind you when it was just you, the sea and the sun. Decorating the wall in this home or office environment a framed image or canvas print does a perfect job. On a calmer day an alternative view of Sandsend village with Lythe bank climbing up the hill to the North Yorkshire Moors.

Today the North Sea has but a gentle swell rolling onto sands populated by holidaymakers and enjoying the summer sun and warmth.

A tiny heartbeat against a freezing world.

While we retreat to our firesides, this Robin is a 20-gram warrior. This shot captures the exact moment the light faded—a reminder that a little fat and seed goes a long way in ensuring this little guy is still here to sing for us come Spring.

Bring the resilience of nature into your home. This limited-edition print is available now at Steve Davison Photography.

Step into the Realm of the Fairy Queen. 🌿✨

Deep within the limestone heart of Malhamdale lies Jennet’s Foss—a place where the line between myth and reality blurs. Legend says the Fairy Queen, Jennet, still dwells behind the curtain of these falling waters.

I captured this piece to bring a touch of that Yorkshire magic into your home. Whether you're a lover of folklore or simply find peace in the sound of falling water, this print is a window into another world.

“P.S. For those who know the walk from Malham village—this is the exact spot where the birdsong is loudest in the Spring. A little piece of that memory for your living room!”

More than a photo—a lifetime of loyalty.

This is Meg. If you’ve read my website, you’ll recognize her name. She was my shadow, my "work-in-progress," and my best friend. Looking at this shot from the archives; I can still feel that crisp Yorkshire air on Ilkley Moor.

For those of us who have been "chosen" by a dog, we know it’s about more than just ownership. It’s that unspoken contract of complete trust. I use my photography to freeze those moments—the intense stare of a Collie on a mission and the quiet loyalty of a companion at rest.

Dogs are at the centre of our lives for such a short time. I’m grateful I have these high-quality captures to look back on now that she’s watching from above.
Does your companion have a "signature look" you never want to forget?

The North Sea doesn’t hold back. 🌊

There’s nothing quite like the raw power of a storm hitting the Sandsend seafront. If you’ve stood on that slipway, you know the sound and the spray! This shot captures that exact moment the buildings get their "Sandsend soak."

Bring that wild coastal energy into your home with a high-quality print. Whether you want a statement Canvas or a classic Print for Framing, I can custom size this piece to fit your space perfectly.

Life in the Decay. 🍂

Last Autumn, I stepped off the beaten path and found beauty in the breakdown. There’s something poetic about forest debris—what was once vibrant is now quietly fuelling the next generation of life.

I’ve captured this cycle in a series of new compositions, now live on website gallery. Whether you prefer the texture of a fine art canvas or the challenge of a 300-piece jigsaw, these pieces bring a slice of the woodland floor into your home. You could even rest your cuppa on a Coaster of the same images

Upper Wharfedale - A Masterclass in Texture

There is a specific moment in the Yorkshire Dales where the meadow grasses reach their peak, catching the low summer sun in a way that feels almost ethereal. This shot captures that transition—the "calm before the harvest"—where dry-stone walls and iconic barns anchor a landscape that’s about to change overnight.

From the intricate wildflowers to the deep shadows of the fells, this piece brings the rugged elegance of the Dales into your home.

Bring the Dales home:
• 🖼️ Fine Art Prints (perfect for framing)
• 🎨 Gallery Canvases
• 🧩 Jigsaws & Coasters (for a touch of Yorkshire charm)
