No matter how old they are, it's always a good time for updated photos ❤️

I took this one of my own daughter for her 13th birthday, and I absolutely love it 🥹

We tend to think about professional photographs when they're babies and toddlers, but those bigger-kid years deserve documenting too. They change SO much, and suddenly you look at them and wonder where your little kid went 😭

And for a teenager's birthday? A portrait session is something a bit different. It's a chance for them to express their own personality and style and create images that feel like them at this age.

We can mix things up throughout the session too – from casual outfits and relaxed photographs to something a little more dressed up and refined, with different backgrounds, lighting and looks.

Whether your child is 3, 8, 13 or 17, there's no wrong age to update those photographs ❤️

Autumn is one of my absolute favourite times of year for outdoor sessions. The gorgeous colours, fallen leaves and soft autumn light make the most beautiful backdrop for family photographs. 🧡

The really colourful part of autumn doesn't last for long, so if you've been thinking about updating your family photos this year, it's worth getting your session in the diary now rather than waiting until the leaves have already started to turn.

A little reminder to photograph YOU, too. ❤️

Pregnancy can feel like it lasts forever while you're in it...and then suddenly it's over, your baby is here, and it's hard to remember quite what it felt like to carry them.

That's why maternity photographs matter. Not because you need to feel glamorous every second of pregnancy (does anyone?! 😂), but because this is such a short chapter in your family's story, and one day these photographs will mean even more than they do now.

And your session doesn't have to be one particular style.

Want something relaxed and casual? Absolutely.
Jeans, boots and an oversized jacket? Yep.
Full-on gorgeous flowing gown? Definitely.
Something a little more dramatic? We can do that too.

Or, my favourite option... a mixture ❤️

I've got a beautiful collection of maternity gowns and outfits at the studio, and we'll create a varied gallery that still feels like you.

Because your baby's newborn photographs will be precious...but the story started before they arrived 🥰

Clearly the standard newborn pose wasn't quite dramatic enough, so we went for legs in the air, toes out, living his best life 😂

Honestly, could he BE any cuter?! 🥹

It's the tiny little quirks like this that make newborn galleries so special. 🤍

I mean, LOOK at these three! 😍

Big sister Amelia looking incredibly proud, little Louie completely snoozing through the whole thing...and Hazelnut completing the sibling line-up perfectly 🥹

Such a gorgeous little moment from their newborn session. Family photos don't get much cuter than this. 🤍

Why book your newborn session during pregnancy? 🤍

Because babies have absolutely no respect for diaries. 😂

Newborn sessions are ideally held within the first 1–3 weeks after birth, when your baby is still incredibly tiny, sleepy and naturally curled up.

When you book during pregnancy, I'll reserve a date in my diary for approximately two weeks after your due date. Once baby arrives, we can adjust that date if needed depending on when they actually make their appearance.

Booking ahead also means you don't have to start searching for a photographer while you're recovering, sleep deprived and getting to know your brand-new little person. ❤️

My newborn diary has limited availability each month, so if you're expecting, it's always worth getting in touch before baby arrives.

Baby Louie and his gorgeous family 💛

I absolutely love these relaxed family images from his newborn session - everyone snuggled together, big sister Amelia clearly rather pleased with her new little brother, and Hazelnut making sure she gets in on the family photos too. 🥰

Because newborn sessions aren't just about photographing your new baby. They're about capturing your family exactly as it is at this moment - when everything has just changed and somehow your family suddenly feels complete. ❤️

And yes...getting everyone looking at the camera at the same time - including the dog - absolutely counts as a win. 😂
