Was a pleasure to photograph Laura and Andrews wedding in the beautiful historic market town of Shaftesbury, home of the world famous Gold Hill, and yes there is a large model of a Hovis loaf at the top!

Was just there to cover the ceremony and a few shots afterwards on Gold Hill and near by where there are some spectacular views.

Was only with them for a few hours, but it was full of fun and laughter, thanks again for letting me be a part of your day, here are your samples.

Was thinking the other day, we have some stunning wedding venues in and around Dorset, Hampshire and Somerset. I wonder how many I have been at taking photos, turns out quite a few!

Lia and Stuart had travelled down from Essex for their big day in Dorset, and I'd only "met" them over video call before their big day, so was nice to meet them both in person

Bridal prep was at Dudsbury Golf Club - Hotel & Spa before moving onto the Parley Manor for their ceremony and reception.

It was the first time I worked at Parley Manor, and like the couple wasn't dissapointed, it's a spectacular venue and setting for an outdoor wedding.

As the sun started to go down and the temperature cooled (a little) the evening entertainment started which I'm sure carried on until the small hours!

A stunningly hot and sunny day for Sam and Gaz's wedding at Athelhampton House in Dorset.

After a very relaxed bridal prep it was off to Athelhampton House where they got married in the historic 15th century house.

The staff at Athelhampton really looked after the couple and made the day run smoothly, thanks in particular to Laura the wedding co-ordinator who helped out organising the group shots in record time! And for arranging a rather delicious 3 course meal for one very hungry photographer!

Really couldn't have asked for anything more, perfect weather, stunning location and a great couple who laughed together throughout the day.

Self Portrait - Late night working

Wedding photography isn't just about the day itself. Sure there is a lot of preparation before the big day, meeting with the couple, going through their day and "must have shots" and listening to what they want.

Then the day before making sure I have all my notes, making sure my kit, and backup kit, is all clean and working, all batteries fully charged!

Then the big day itself, for a full day I'm normally at the bridal prep for a couple of hours in the morning, then onto the ceremony right through until the first dance.

That's just the start of the work though, first thing when I get home usually late in the evening is to back everything up, everything is already backed up throughout the day, but it gets backed up again and stored somewhere away from my main computers.

Then onto the processing, first off is going through all of the photos and taking out ones that either didn't quite work, or usually someone blinking!

After the first pass I go through again to make sure they are as good as can be, sometimes they need a little colour correction or lighting tweaks, especially if there is an evening disco, a bright blue bridal dress from a disco light isn't the greatest look.

Once the final selection has been made, I check them again, then package them up to be uploaded to the couples online gallery and download links created to share.

A full days wedding normally is around 10 hours on the day, plus up to 25 hours processing and getting the photo's just right

Hence, late night working!

Have been a little quiet on Facebook recently, but have still been very busy and this is the latest wedding. Trevor and Iris at the picturesque Tithe Barn on the Hinton Mary Estate.

You can tell from the photos how much this day meant to Trevor and Iris

We are so lucky to have such amazing venues here in Dorset, particulary on the coast, so it was my pleasure to photograph the wedding of Nikki Malcolm and Nathan Sweeney at the stunning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens.

Nikki arrived at the gardens in style in a pristine Range Rover, then onto the Oak Folley where Nathan and their guests were waiting for the ceremony to take place in the early afternoon sun.

A great day had by all, and topped off with an early evening walk up to the view point for spectacular views over the Jurrasic Coast, it was well worth the (steep) walk!

First wedding with no restrictions and it was a good one. They day started with the bridal prep fuelled by pastries and kebabs (the fruit kind) Then Pam and Lee got married at Gillingham Town Hall on Saturday, and to take them to the Olive Bowl for their reception their vintage Morris Minor had a guard of honour made up of scooters (Lee is a little mad on scooters!)

Matt Black the piano man played and entertained them during their meal, and after the first dance they partied away into the small hours with the band the Small Fakers.
