ing the South West of England, the UK and further a field too, all for the love of capturing your special day. Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event, and your photos need to be right. Booking with me, you’ll receive great photos that you can hold and cherish forever, to share with generations to come. I help couples to get the photos they want of their big day and I quite often leave a wedding having shed a few tears myself. By offering a pre-booking consultation and a pre-wedding chat (either in person, or online) one month prior to your special day, I hope this leaves couples with peace of mind that they can relax on their big day. Here is what you can expect from start to finish when booking with me:
(1) Make sure you check out my portfolio to see if match the style you are after for your special day. I encourage couples to book an engagement shoot to (1) meet me in person (2) get to see how I work (3) have some amazing photographs taken of such a special time in your journey towards marriage and as a couple. (2) After filling out my short contact form, I will reply as soon as possible to book a pre-wedding consultation call. Once we have had a chat and you are happy, I then send out a contract and deposit invoice to confirm the booking. Once booked I then arrange a follow up call one month prior to your big day to iron out any final details. (3) Your Wedding Day! I will be there to capture your big day. Depending on the Wedding Photography Package you go for, I will bring a friendly and sociable vibe and help you relax in to your day. From fixing the groom’s flower pins, to fluffing out the Brides dress, I help out in as many ways to make you feel relaxed on your big day. (4) Following your Wedding Day, I will deliver a small collection of ‘HERO Shots’ to you via email, within 24 hours. Then you will receive an online full album of photos between four and eight weeks. Lastly, and depending on the package you choose, I will send you a tangible version of your album for you to share with your family and friends.

From “I’m very nervous” to “I loved it”, Saturday evening was one of those evenings where you know the couple made a great choice in booking an engagement photoshoot.

I had a great evening on West Bay Beach and took Beth and Sam along the cliffs to a quieter spot to run through both some fun, unique, dynamic, and static poses. Giving them space with a longer lens on and little to nobody around really helped and by the end Beth was pulling all the strings.

Thank you both for a fab evening and I hope you don’t take your nerves into your wedding day, because you both smashed it! Roll on April 🫶🏼

What Makes Couple Portraits Feel Natural 📸

For me, natural couple portraits are mostly about knowing when enough is enough.

I might adjust where you’re standing, move you into better light or give you a simple prompt, but I’m always watching for the point where you stop thinking about what I’ve asked and start reacting to each other instead.

That little shift is usually where the photograph becomes yours.

A laugh that wasn’t planned. A look that lasted a second longer. The way you naturally move closer without being told.

I don’t want every portrait to feel polished to within an inch of its life.

I want it to still feel like you were there together, in that moment, on your wedding day.

That’s the part worth keeping.

Some of the best wedding photos are the ones you didn’t even know were happening.

The morning nerves, the proud looks, the quick hand squeezes, the guests laughing in the background, the little moments between the bigger parts of the day.

They’re not always the photos you think to ask for.

But they’re often the ones that bring the whole day back.

It was so lovely to meet to many familiar faces after photographing their legal wedding a few weeks ago. What a day H+S had and I’m so glad the weather got better for you than forecast. From a gorgeous barn to a picturesque tipi and field setting, it was a day I’m sure you’ll never forget.

If I didn’t cram all the hero shots into 18 slides, I would have got to 20 easy and then needed more!

What a day for Harriet and Simon at their wedding at Dovecote Events. With a beautiful celebrant led ceremony in the barn, followed by breakfast in an amazing tipi, the day was superb.

After photographing H+S’s official wedding day a few weeks previous, it was so nice to see so many familiar faces. I’m glad the forecast improved throughout the week and you were able to celebrate the majority of your day in the dry.

I wish you both the very best and hope to maybe see you again one day.

Wedding photographer thoughts I have far too often 📸

There’s a lot going on in my head during a wedding day, to be honest.

I’m watching the light, keeping half an eye on the timeline, noticing the little looks and laughs, thinking about where everyone needs to be, and occasionally getting far too excited about a doorway, a staircase, or a random patch of wall that happens to look brilliant in photos.

But that’s the thing I love about weddings.

There’s always something happening. The big moments, the tiny ones, the emotional bits, the funny bits, the slight chaos, the things nobody planned, and the things you probably didn’t even notice at the time.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, there’s usually a photo that says everything.

A beautiful venue helps, but knowing how to use it makes all the difference. 📸

Amy & Connor’s wedding at Sandy Cove Hotel had those incredible North Devon coastal views, but the real job is making sure the scenery supports the story, not steals it. The people, the reactions, the light, the little moments, that is what brings a gallery to life.

I loved that they mentioned feeling relaxed, because that is usually when the best photos happen. When everyone can settle into the day and forget about the camera a little, the real moments have space to come through.

And hearing that their guests are still asking how they found me months later? I’ll take that as a very good sign. 😂

How do I approach a wedding day? 📸

I don’t think every part of a wedding needs to be handled in the same way.

Some parts need a bit of direction, like family photos, portraits, or making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time.

Other parts are better when they’re just left to unfold.

That could be someone getting emotional when they see you ready, your mates making you laugh when you need it, or those tiny bits of the day you don’t even realise are happening at the time 🥂

That’s why I try to pay attention to the feel of the day, not just the schedule.

Sometimes that means helping things along. Sometimes it means keeping quiet, watching properly, and not interrupting something that already feels right.

For me, good wedding photography is not about forcing every second into a photo. It’s about knowing what needs a little help, and what just needs to be noticed.
