🌫️ Stourhead at dawn - where time slows and the soul exhales 🏛

The Palladian bridge rests quietly, its reflection undisturbed in the still lake. A single orange tree blazes in the background, heralding autumn’s arrival 🍂. Beyond, the Pantheon begins to glow under the first kiss of morning light. The scene is cinematic - as if the score from Pride & Prejudice were written for this very moment.

🍂 Stourhead in its Autumn transition 🍁

This is the view that makes Stourhead a dream for landscape photographers. Taken near the lake's edge, the iconic bridge mirrored perfectly on the still water, the classical building standing proud in the distance, surrounded by sweeping autumn colour in the trees around the lake. Early in the morning, the light was soft, the air crisp, and the reflections were flawless. A moment of calm and colour, frozen in time 📸🍂✨️

In my previous post, my camera featured to highlight me attending Stourhead's First Light Photography session but this post focuses solely on the scene I was able to capture. These photography sessions are ideal to get the scenery without people in them which creates the ideal opportunity to capture this wonderful landscape. My Canon 90d was the perfect tool to capture it beautifully too 😍📸.

🍂 Autumn has returned with nature's most spectacular pallette! 🍁

This image was captured during the First Light Photography Workshop at National Trust Stourhead last year, just as the morning mist lifted and the colours began to glow in that early morning sunshine 🌞🍁. This year, the transformation is already underway with the scenery around the lake erupting in golden, amber and crimson hues, graduating across the trees. It's a breathtaking reminder that this season is fleeting and every moment is worth chasing.

If you're drawn to autumn colour and landscape photography, now is the time to get out there. The light, the texture, the atmosphere, is all happening now ✨️. I am planning my return to Stourhead next week and hope to be blessed with similar colours.

Moody skies, calm seas, and the tide low enough to walk the old smugglers’ route around the headland 🏴‍☠️🌊

Exploring hidden coves and coastal seascapes makes this spot a dream for landscape photography and modern explorers 📸

This is still one of my favourite coastal locations in the UK and certainly one of the most atmospheric.

Me in front of the last airworthy Westland Lynx (MK7) at the White Horse Military Show. The MK7 Lynx Helicopter is the World’s Fastest Helicopter, holding a world speed record of 249mph (412 km/h), and this is the only one still flying in the UK (flown by Historic Helicopters). Hamilton from Hamilton James Cars with the last airworthy Westland Lynx (MK7) at the White Horse Military Show. Hamilton was lucky enough to fly with Historic Helicopters and inside the MK7 Lynx Helicopter which is the World’s Fastest Helicopter, holding a world speed record of 249mph (412 km/h). It was great to capture some photos of the occasion for him.

The Last Airworthy Westland Lynx (MK7), flying at the White Horse Military Show. The MK7 Lynx Helicopter is the World’s Fastest Helicopter, holding a world speed record of 249mph (412 km/h). This is the only one still flying in the UK and was flown by Historic Helicopters. It was incredible to see it in the skies and on the ground and be able to get up close to it and see the mounted gun, cockpit and controls.

The Last Airworthy Westland Lynx (MK7), flying at the White Horse Military Show. The MK7 Lynx Helicopter is the World’s Fastest Helicopter, holding a world speed record of 249mph (412 km/h).
This is the only one still flying in the UK and was flown in by Historic Helicopters. It was incredible to see it in the skies and on the ground (more photos in the next post).

Hi all! Want to say a huge thank you to Richard Dalton for hosting another brilliant White Horse Military Show last weekend! I was out taking photos on the Sunday and will be getting them uploaded shortly 📷.

Some of the posting will be delayed as I'm off on holiday tomorrow for the bank holiday weekend! 😆 But keep an eye out and I will tag relevant groups and individuals when I post so you get notified of your content too.
