Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Convoy to Martinstown (part 1)

This first stretch of the convoy to Martinstown from Camp D5 in Broadmayne went via the Came Estate (Winterborne Came), Winterborne Herringstone and Higher Came past Came Down Golf Club. After then, the convoy went off road (see the next post for those photos). This part of the journey provided lush green scenery, brilliant views of Dorchester and scenes of the convoy stretching back into the distance around Winterborne Came. You will find a lot of landscape photographs mixed into the following albums as I loved seeing my familiar local landscape from the higher viewpoint from within the Half Track.

The Bad Bunny Crew

I was very lucky to accompany the crew of Bad Bunny around Dorset at the Armour and Embarkation event this year. They are an incredible group of men who welcomed me in straight away and honestly made my weekend. Unbeknownst to them, on a personal wishlist of things I want to do before I turn 25 in July was to ride in a military vehicle. I knew I had the chance to at this event and was bold enough to ask to join - the rest is history! I can't explain how thrilled I still am at the experience so thank you all ❤🥰

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Base Camp on Saturday

At the end of the day's journey to the Tank Museum and Dorchester, the convoy returned to Camp D5 in Broadmayne. Here I captured some of the vehicles parked up. See if you can spot yours!

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Saturday Evening Convoy.

These photographs were captured upon the half track Bad Bunny from Dorchester heading back to base camp in Broadmayne. With the evening sun now setting in, it made for some beautiful lighting upon the landscape and vehicles.

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Dorchester.

The convoy of tanks, half tracks, jeeps, motorbikes, high speed tractors and more, entered Dorchester via Grey's Bridge and journeyed up High East Street, Acland Road, and South Walks Road before parking up outside and around Brewery Square. We were greeted by massive crowds of excited and enthusiastic people applauding, cheering and waving flags. It was an incredible sight and made me immensely proud to show off my local town to the rest of my crew who were attending this event for the first time. The majority of our crew were ex-military and the packed streets of Dorchester, coming to see the convoy, left them speechless, with goosebumps and feeling better about the state of humanity. Having children come round to see, touch and ask questions of the vehicles is what this event is about (and it was great to see so many rocking the England Football kit during this World Cup season too). So Dorchester, you really did yourselves proud. Thank you for hosting us ❤❤

These photographs were taken on top of the half track Bad Bunny which provided a unique viewpoint of the convoy and Dorchester beyond.

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Convoy through Dorset countryside (part 4).

Having secured a spot upon a half track, I was able to capture incredible perspectives of the convoy and the Dorset countryside. These photographs capture the last stage of the convoy heading to Dorchester and are taken on the roads near the Kingston Maurward Estate.

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Convoy through Dorset countryside (part 3).

I am incredibly proud to share these photographs of the convoy near Tincleton on the Saturday. These were taken whilst we were temporarily paused near the end of Rhododendron Mile (near Puddletown) whilst the heaviest vehicles slowly progressed up the hill. What it resulted in was the perfect opportunity to see the length of the convoy queued neatly for miles on roads that snake off into the distance on narrow country lanes.

I was so excited to have this incredible view on the half track and am incredibly pleased to see that the expanse of this scene captured as well as it looked to the eye. Thank you once again to my incredible crew for letting me come aboard and have such an opportunity. This is a memory I won't forget 🥰❤️

Armour and Embarkation 2026 - Convoy through Dorset countryside (part 2).

Having secured a spot upon a half track, I was able to capture incredible perspectives of the convoy and the Dorset countryside. These photographs capture the second stage of the journey from Bovington Ranges, heading towards Dorchester, with these mainly being shot through Tincleton. I have experimented with some black and white edits so let me know what you think!
