I can’t think of a better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than flip-flopping between the Macclesfield Canal and the Middlewood Way in search of the best autumnal scenes. There’s certainly plenty to admire as the colours reach their peak.

I absolutely adore Autumn 🍁🍂, it’s my favourite season.

When short strolls are transformed into a dreamy haze of reds, oranges and yellows, feeding the imagination and nurturing the soul.

The season encourages me to slow down, take a breath and appreciate the little things.

The Cage at Lyme Park looking all bleak and moody.

Whenever I’m alone up there, with just the wind whistling through the grass, I always get struck by a weird sense of nothingness. Sends a shiver down my spine 🥶🫣.

Been a while since I’ve visited Lyme Park NT, but this afternoon presented the perfect opportunity for a leisurely stroll up from High Lane and the Macclesfield Canal.

It was lovely seeing the estate in the early stages of its autumn transformation. Even on a cloudy and blustery day like today, the views from Windgather over the Cheshire Plain and across towards Manchester City Centre are wonderful.

Particularly liked this shot of Lyme Hall framed by the trees - I’m sure this will look truly spectacular in a few weeks!

With a void to fill after the excitement of the Tour of Britain, I decided to pop along to Wythenshawe Park this afternoon for the opening round of this year’s North West Cyclo-Cross League. A fabulous local sporting event with a real community vibe.

Anyone who has ventured into the farthest reaches of Etherow Country Park in Stockport will know just how special an area the Keg Pool is, sitting among a haven of woodland wildlife and plants. Sadly, this crucial environmental asset is under threat from river erosion. By signing this petition you can help in the fight to save the Keg Pool and raise awareness of its plight.
