The solar wind environment is now showing signs of activity as the speed increased further and the Bz/IMF component has been mostly pointing south. The active (Kp4) threshold was reached. (G2) conditions is still in effect for the next 24 hours due to possible incoming CME effects.

A very quick heads up. We had a filament eruption on the sun a couple of days ago and there was a bit of umming and arrring as to how much of it would reach us.
Well it appears some has certainly arrived and is about to impact earth. It might be worth checking back around night fall to see how its all panning out.

A coronal hole is currently facing our planet. A G2 geomagnetic storm watch is currently in effect for Friday, 15 May. We will keep updating this post on and more information as and when. Weather forecast dont look to bad but that can change over the next day or so. Thanks everyone.
