Spotlighting me and my business!

As I've recently gained lots of fab new followers on LinkedIn and on my Instagram page, plus the fact that my website has been given a spring clean, I think it's high time I reintroduced myself.

-I'm an established professional photographer specialising in lifestyle branding, portraiture and beauty photography.
I'm passionate about photography and have been a professional photographer since I was twenty two 📸

- I'm 6' tall, however I think I'm starting to shrink a little! 🤣

- I have been married to Warren 💕 for 31 years & we have a daughter and a son in their early 20's ... & yep they are both tall too 🥰 🥰

- I love gardening, animal & nature conservation and generally being out doors in the natural world, in fact I have just recorded my first podcast on this subject, highlighting the joys of "Forest Bathing" or aka going for a lovely walk in the woods 🌲

- I took a DNA test many years ago to find out if maybe I had any mediterranean lineage but instead found out I was over 60% Scottish, amongst other things, plus 12% Scandinavian Viking! ❄️

- We have two rescue cats and if I could I would have a sanctuary full of rescued animals 🐈 🦆 🐖 🐕 🦃

- I grew up on a small holding in north Cumbria.
After studying for my degree in photography at Staffordshire Uni 📸 I moved to London for a year of photography work experience and stayed there for over sixteen years 🏙️

-While living in London, I worked for a wide range of women's magazines & I was commissioned to do numerous fashion and beauty editorial trips all over the world, which helped me develop my own editorial style 🌞
Now based in Warwickshire, I do a variety of lifestyle business and personal branding photoshoots, plus headshots and image content creation for businesses and design companies up and down the country ☺️

-I love working in creative teams and I'm proud to be part of so many at the moment 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

What to expect from a Personal Branding photoshoot with me!

Every photoshoot is different but there are a few crucial things to expect from a Personal Branding photoshoot with Annie Johnston Photography.

-In my opinion communication is key.
I always have a planning consultation before the shoot, to find out why you would like a photoshoot, who your potential audience will be, plus the style of imagery you would like, so we can create images that will reflect your individual ethos and best tell your story.

-Advice will be given about what to wear for the shoot, using the same colour palette as your branding and logo is always a benefit, as well as having different outfit looks. Plus top tips will be given about make-up and hair.

-Location information will be given about the best places to have the photoshoot, sometimes your own working environment works well, I can also recommend excellent local locations and studios too.

- Direction will be given on how to move and respond to the camera while being photographed. I always aim to create a relaxed atmosphere, as the actual process of being photographed should be an enjoyable and collaborative event.

- The final out come will be a bank of fresh stylish high quality images, which can be used to tell your story, on your website, across your social media platforms and for PR and promotions.

I can think of no better way to celebrate International Women's Day than being surrounded by over a hundred and forty talented women connecting and supporting each other 💕 I had such a fantastic time photographing the Great Women In Business event yesterday, with the wonderful Massey.

It was a very busy day but I did manage a quick chat with lots of familiar fab faces and meet some new ones too!

One of the many things I love about my job is using all the experience I’ve gained from editorial beauty and wellness photoshoots to help small businesses grow. It’s not just about wonderful imagery, it’s about helping business owners show off what they do best, connect with their ideal clients, showcase their team and feel proud of their brand.

So I was thrilled to be asked by Fisher to take the photos for the launch of her new website for her fabulous salon Anew Aesthetics.
This wasn’t just a photo shoot. It was a celebration of the talent, atmosphere, and creativity that makes Anew Aesthetics and Carlie's amazing team so special, and now their new website reflects that loud and clear.

I've practiced what I preach .....here's my new headshot!

Just like most people I know, the thought of having my headshot taken fills me with apprehension! Which is ironic considering I love taking headshots and making people feel relaxed in front of the camera. So a new up to date headshot for me was well overdue.
Many thanks to Julie Mrowicki for her expertise and assistance, I'm really pleased with the results and being on the other side of the camera always gives me a great insight how my clients feel.
I could have chosen a more serene image ... but that's not me.

I would like to shine a spotlight on the very talented and hard working team at Neate & Pugh
They invited me back again to Birmingham recently for another lifestyle Business Branding photoshoot to update and refresh their website, as they are expanding and more Neate & Pugh team members have been recruited. It's so good to see this business go from strength to strength and very well deserved. I love having such a wonderful on going working relationship with you all and our photoshoots are always great fun!
