WE’VE GOT ALL THE SKILLS HERE!

As many of you that visit here regularly will know, we’ve got an amazing group of talented Artisans here that have a wide variety of skills and techniques.
From a tasteful restoration to painting and from stenciling to decoupage we can do it all. This week we are highlighting examples of different techniques, styles and skills.
Apologies for not posting anything last week but our team member responsible for Friday posts was too busy trying a very different skill- - bowling! He was playing in 2 finals last Friday and his mind was elsewhere!
We’ve also included some lovely snaps of our Shop Pup, TUCC, for her adoring fans out there.

COMING TO A SCREEN NEAR YOU!

Hi Folks, as many of you may have read, we’ve had the BBC here filming over the last few weeks and Sarah P has been working on 3 new episodes of the BBC’s “Money For Nothing” show.
We normally let you see all the new things we have in (and we have a few) our showroom but we thought we’d share Sarah’s latest very special creation and a future TV Star that’s just been finished and available for sale.
It’s an absolute masterpiece and complete stunner and please check out the video attached.

WOW!! WE’VE JUST PASSED 11,000 FOLLOWERS!

We are so so pleased to report that we have just broken through the 11,000 barrier on Facebook followers.
THANK YOU ALL!!
As a not for profit, Community Interest Company dedicated to promoting Upcycling, we rely heavily on social media to spread the word on what we do and without your wonderful support in following and sharing our posts to help drive visits to our Centre, we couldn’t survive!
We are also helped by Sarah appearing regularly on the BBC’s Money For Nothing show and we were delighted to have the team here again this week filming another new episode.
So thanks for all the support in growing our Upcycling community, please keep sharing our posts and best of all visiting us here in the TUCC Shop.
As usual we’ve attached some images of just a few of the wonders we have here for sale and hope that it encourages lots of people to visit this weekend or sometime soon.

LEARN HOW TO UPCYCLE!

We just had a session on Saturday and are looking to start another series of our workshops soon on Eventbrite.
We will be offering 2 types classes initially as they all sold out so quickly last year-

1. LEARN HOW TO UPCYCLE.
2. UPCYCLE A DINING CHAIR.

The Learn how to Upcycle class involves you learning how to prep and then paint a small table. We supply the table and all the materials needed to enable you to create your own wee unique table to take home with you. The cost is £75 and it lasts close to 3 hours.
The Upcycle a dining chair class incorporates learning how to prep and paint the wood but it also adds an element of upholstery as you will be taking the old seat pad apart then reconstructing and reupholstering the pad. We have a large range of colours and fabrics available so you can take home your own unique masterpiece. The cost is £185 and this is a longer course around 5 to 6 hours with a short lunch break.
Both courses will be on Saturdays through the year.
We’ve attached a wee video of the class we had last week and also images of a few wonders we have available for sale just now in our showroom by way of inspiration of what’s possible when you have the skills.

FILMING AND A FEAST OF FURNITURE!

What a week we’ve had here in the TUCC Shop. Early in the week we had the BBC here with Presenter/Designer Sarah Moore visiting and starting the filming of some new episodes of “Money for Nothing” featuring our very own Sarah P!
It’s always great having Sarah M and the film crew here and lovely to hear how impressed they all are with the good work that our very talented team of Artisans create.
We also had quite a lot of donations this week so we have lots of items to upcycle and transform.
We are also getting ready for our “Learn how to Upcycle” workshops with one scheduled for tomorrow morning. Unfortunately we’ve had 2 unavoidable last minute call offs so, although it’s short notice, we have two places available for the 9.30am to 12 session tomorrow morning so WhatsApp us tonight on 07368860581 if you are interested.

THE VOTES ARE IN AND WE HAVE A RESULT!

As all the media focus this week has been on the election, we thought we would have our own wee bit of election fun in the TUCC Shop this week!
We’ve been looking back across all our social media and checking with customers visiting here as to which items still available for sale they would vote for in an upcycling election.

MAY MOVES!
Yes folks, it’s May already and as we moved into a new month today we thought we’d make some moves in our showroom.
We’ve (mostly Sarah!) been busy all day adding new items on to the shop floor and moving the whole showroom around to freshen the whole place up a bit.
Please see the attached images of our new look showroom and we hope it entices lots of you to pop in this week or sometime soon.
The only day we are closed is on a Monday and you can find our full opening hours and directions here on the about section of our page or on our website www.tucc.co.uk

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!
We’ve lots of reasons to feel good this lovely April Friday!

* The sun is shining!
* We’ve had lots of customers today!
* We’ve got loads of furniture newbies in from our talented Artisans.
* Sarah has just finished an amazing dining set!
* It’s pie, chocolate and Mr Whippy Friday!
* We’ve successfully tested and now stock a new range of recycled furniture paint.
* Tucc has enjoyed lazing in our sunny showroom.
* Alfie’s 37 year old big blue dream machine of a motorbike passed its M.O.T. today.

We are so so very lucky here that we only had to go into our neighbours next door to Inchmichael garage for our pies, sweeties, ice cream and an M.O.T.
We’ve attached some images of the smaller items that have come in this week and we hope to see some of you here soon and remember, the only day we are closed is on a Monday.

BIG BROWN BOX 📦

This is the second time this piece of furniture has been upcycled in our workshop. Its first makeover was a restoration job, every part of it was scrapped and sanded then the woodwork oiled and brought back to life, it looked great in the shop but sadly didn’t get much interest from our customers and the longer it sat there the more we started thinking of it as just a big brown box!
There were 2 options, leave it in the shop for eternity or do something else to it, so, here is the something else!
It’s got everything! Hanging space, cupboard space, drawers, some place for shoes and lift up the lid and there’s a mirror and more storage for bits and bobs, and the best bit…it’s on wheels! 😁
Great job Sarah and it’s for sale now our showroom.

Although we’ve always got an amazing range of furniture, diverse in use and design, walking around our showroom today you can’t help but notice the amount of wonderful bedroom furniture we have available for sale at the moment.
