It’s World Photography Day today, so I thought I’d share the image where my creative photography adventure began.

Taken in the British Museum in May 2021, this beautiful room was unusually quiet, with just one person sitting in the middle. I was drawn to the light streaming through the windows, and to the wonderful symmetry and geometric lines throughout the room.

The image was created from a single photograph and, at the time, I did nothing other than a basic edit to it. It lay on my hard drive for almost a year until I came back to it and began experimenting in Photoshop, manipulating it extensively until I arrived at this final version☺️

Puffins! We got a lovely summers day on our annual trip to the Isle of May a couple of weeks ago. I did not know that boat trips could be so smooth 😅 And a peregrine falcon even made an appearance at the end of the day ☺️

Nice to visit the Falkirk Wheel last week and see the RPS Landscape Groups travelling exhibition in person - it has been up and down the country and is now in its final position here in Scotland until 21st June. Thanks to Viv Cotton for organising and Jacquie Sweeney for the photo ☺️

Some images from my new project, The Transient City.
As I have wandered the city in recent years, I can't help but think about how transient it all is.
The constant flow of human presence through spaces that endure long after they have moved on
On my last trip to London, I was looking for different things rather than the recognisable landmarks and cityscapes I am usually drawn to.
This time I looked for light, movement, and anonymity. Busy spaces contrasting with the quiet moments before the rush.

Delighted to share that I have now received my 'Diploma in Photography Judging' after spending 2025 on the X-Celerate programme with The Guild Of Photographers and learning from the best, Heather Burns ☺️

Very grateful for all the lovely people I have met who have helped and encouraged me over the years as I have developed, and particular thanks to all at the Guild of Photographers ☺️🙏

Some recent salon and BPE acceptances, with medals for my Lisbon image, Passing Through, and Edinburgh Winter Lights. First acceptances for I belong to Glasgow and Brick Lane, and first time entering the London Salon gained me another two acceptances, for two Glasgow images which makes me happy ☺️
