A friendly Camera Club in the village of Lazonby in the Eden Valley that welcomes new members of all abilities and experience.

We meet every Monday evening in Lazonby Village Hall from September to April each year.

‘Scottish Wildlife’ with Jeremy Malley-Smith

Jeremy, originally from Lancashire, now lives in Cumbria. For the past 15 years he has travelled to the west coast of Scotland 4 to 5 times a year, His talk will be split into categories to include macro, insects, animals, otters and birds & their behaviour. He will explain why he thinks some photos work & others that don’t.

'Photography for Book Publishing’ ’ with Helen Skelmerdine

Talk is about the images she has taken for 6 landscape photography books of hers which have been published over the last 10 years .

she talks about the challenges of photographing images to order, in all seasons, for specific purposes etc.

Eden Valley Camera Club presents John Birch with his ‘Wild Pennines’ talk.

Monday, November 3rd, 7.00pm, lazonby Village Hall jubilee room

‘John will be presenting photographs that he is using towards a book he is publishing about the wildlife in the Cumbrian Northern Pennines near his home.

The presentation will provide insight into the thought process & practical steps taken to turn this project into a reality.’

Eden Valley Camera Club presents Ade Gidney ‘’Landscapes- Lake District & Beyond"

Monday, Oct 27, 7.30pm at Lazonby Village Hall jubilee room.

Ade took up digital photography when he retired in 2013 to compliment his love of hill walking & wild camping on the fells. His landscapes are mainly of the North of England & Scotland.

Allan Wright ‘Fine Art & Nature from Landscape’

Lazonby Village Hall; Monday, October 13, 7pm

Allan says "My passion is for landscape, nature, documentary and cityscapes. I try to capture fleeting and lyrical qualities presented by any given subject.

My interest began while travelling and working in the oil industry in Libya & Vietnam. Returning to the North Sea I divided my time between offshore work and landscape photography. At this time I secretly shot oil rig life from the inside, culminating in my first book “On The Rigs” co-authored by "Bard of the North", Caithness writer George Gunn. Since then I have explored much of Scotland and certain overseas locations. Commercial activities include regional and thematic images as fine art prints, calendars and books. I also undertake documentary commisions and manage a sizeable catalogue of stock images. I love my work, it is my mistress, a way of life".
