There may have been things that couldn’t happen quite the way they’d been imagined, and there was most definitely a sky that had clearly made its own decisions, but none of that seemed to matter to Jess & Tom once they were together.
Because underneath the dress, the flowers, the carefully chosen details, there was something much simpler: two people who knew, with complete certainty, that they were marrying their best friend.
So the rain became part of it. The kind of unexpected detail you’ll remember years from now, in the middle of that endless heatwave came the rain.
And perhaps that’s the most beautiful thing about a wedding, that despite the plans, when you look across the room and think:
I’d choose you. Every time. Then you really know. Then we all know.
