Nick Mason’s beautiful Ferrari 250 GTO photographed at Middlewick House last weekend. The Pink Floyd drummer purchased the car back in 1977, with the proceeds from the album The Dark Side Of The Moon for £35,000. As you can imagine, it is worth rather more these days and probably the most valuable car that I have shot!

Taking overhead photographs of priceless racing cars through a small hatch in the ceiling of a car studio, calls for plenty of care and attention, not to mention skill and good communication, especially during the ‘aerial’ section of this shoot. (The black Lotus 98T photographed here, was driven by Ayrton Senna back in 1986... so £££) My son James is now taking on more stills work for me and it is hugely satisfying to start to ‘hand over the reigns’ to the next generation.
