বারুইপুরের ঘটনায় একজন অ'ভিযুক্তর বক্তব্য শুনলাম, কিভাবে ওর বন্ধুরা বাচ্চা মেয়েটার বু''কের আর গ''লার ওপর পা তুলে ওকে মে''রেছে, সেটার বিবরণ দিচ্ছে। বাচ্চা মেয়েটা গতকাল রাস্তায় হাঁটার সময়ও জানতো না যে খানিকক্ষণ বাদেই একটা মর্মান্তিক পরিণতি ওর জন্য অপেক্ষা করছে। ঠিক যেমন আরজিকরের অভয়া জানতো না। দিল্লির নির্ভয়া জানত না। হয়তো ওদের কত স্বপ্ন ছিল। ওরা শেষ নিঃশ্বাস অবধিও জানতে পারেনি ওদের দোষটা কি ছিল। ওরা জানতো না যে সবচেয়ে মূল্যবান একটা জিনিস নিয়ে ওরা রাস্তায় চলাচল করছে। ওদের শরীর।

মেয়েদের সবচেয়ে বড় অ'পরাধ, তাদের শ'রীরটা নিয়ে জন্ম নেওয়া। জন্মের পর থেকে মৃ'ত্যু অবধি তারা সবসময় হাই-রিস্ক জোনে থাকে এই শ'রীরের জন্যই। কয়েক মাসের বাচ্চা মেয়ে হোক বা থুরথুড়ে বুড়ি, কেউ এই রাহুদের গ্রাস থেকে সু'রক্ষিত নয়। তারা দেখতে যেমনই হোক, তাদের বয়স যাই হোক, পরণের পোশাক যেমনই হোক, ঘরের ভেতরে থাকুক বা বাইরে থাকুক, কখন কিভাবে এরকম ভয়ানক পরিণতি ওদের দিকে ধেয়ে আসবে, সেটা কেউ আন্দাজ করতেও পারেনা। যুগ বদলাবে, সরকার বদলাবে, কিন্তু মেয়েদের এই পরিণতির কোনো বদল নেই। একটা ঘটনার সুবিচার হবার আগেই আরো হাজারটা ঘটনা ঘটে যায়.... 🙂
