I had such a lovely day at Belsay with Gillian and Cynthia. A nice man who Cynthia thought was very dishy took the top photo with my camera. Loved the handkerchief tree which was imported from China. Thank you so much Gillian for asking if I'd like to go along.

It was "Phew, What a Scorcher" type weather for The Coquet River Spring Bank Holiday Duck Race. So the coolest people were those in the river freeing the ducks to send them on their way. It was a great turn-out for this annual charity event sponsored by Alncom. If you want to find out if one of the 1,200 winning ducks was yours please see the The Jube: Rothbury Village Hall

A walk in Bluebell Wood in Morpeth and, of course, I'd left it far too late to get shots of the bluebells at their best. However, managed to find some on a path deep into the shade. The last two are from last year near Harbottle when they were at their best.

The Ladies Open Day at Rothbury Golf Club Ltd Despite the cold and windy conditions with frequent downpours, the ladies played so well and couldn't fail to enjoy it on one of the UK's most beautiful golf courses. Vanessa Browning and Jill Pearson were 1st. Sue Kelly and Jean Oswell 2nd and Elizabeth Donaldson and Sheila Brown 3rd.

A walk along the River Coquet at Rothbury. Is it a Red Breasted Merganser Duck and ducklings?
Also swans, mallards and our lovely zwartbles lambs. Oh and a tern having a poo mid-flight. Not the sharpest but never mind.

I did not hesitate when Diane Mennim from D Metal by Diane asked me to take some photographs of her beautiful products. Diane has a workshop at the back of Barter Books and got permission for us to come in early for some shots in this unique and iconic location in Alnwick.
Diane is a self taught welder who designs and creates beautiful art which is both decorative and practical. She recently appeared on MakeIt2Market on the BBC which has helped her to work full time. She displays her work in Elements Rothbury and at Alnwick Market as well as online at www.dmetalbydiane.com. Pictured are just a few of her unique products.

Gillian and David's wedding party Rothbury Golf Club and what a great night we all had! Ragman's Rumble were brilliant musicians and the food by Yvonne was delicious. Friends had come from far and wide, not surprisingly, as not many people are more loved than David and Gillian!

Our lovely neighbours and dear friends, Gillian and David, tied the knot at Morpeth Registry Office last Thursday and were blessed with beautiful weather. After a lovely ceremony, we walked to Morpeth Park and then celebrated with a few drinks in Barluga before going back to Rothbury and Bewicks Restaurant for a delicious wedding meal.
The following night, David and Gillian hosted a fantastic party at Rothbury Golf Club with Ragman’s Rumble providing great entertainment. The two days could not have been more perfect and it was plain to see that Gilliand and David are truly loved by all their friends and family.
Thank you Terry and Sue for taking a photo of the photographer and very honoured guest (me)

It is not surprising that there was a wonderful turnout for the Thanksgiving Service to mark the life of Tom Mason. He was such a great character of the Coquet Valley and a true kind gentleman, one who will never be forgotten. His lovely wife Hazel, son Richard and daughters Janet, Nicola, Rosie and Louisa gave such heartfelt readings and read out their poems. They will miss him terribly. Andrew Charleton also gave a wonderful and funny speech which summed up Tom perfectly. Tom loved the Rothbury Pipe Band and they played at the end of the service. And, of course, his digger was there.
RIP lovely Tom.
