Wilkinson Photography Matt Wilkinson is a Manchester based freelance photographer specialising in sports, event and portrait photography.

Carrying full public liability insurance up to £2m and working with the latest in Nikon, Apple and Adobe imaging technologies. "Working both at home in the UK and abroad, I have a compulsive attitude to photography. Standing in quiet isolation across Marsden Moor, these ventilation shafts are reminders of the industrial landscape hidden beneath the open moorland.

Built to clear smoke and steam from early locomotives in the railway tunnels below. This project explores their stark forms, weathered surfaces and relationship with the surrounding landscape - traces of human intervention slowly absorbed into the Pennine hills.

In a list of odd commissions in my career, getting pics of the grave of Wallace Hartley, the violinist on the Titanic, rates high.

Best known for his actions during the sinking of the Titanic, the bandleader led the eight member band in various pieces as the ship sank on 15 April 1912.

His grave is situated in Colne, Lancashire, the town of his birth and carries the title of the hymn ‘Nearer, my God to thee’, popularly accepted as the last song to be played as the ship sank.
