'Boston'
One from a wee while ago. Although he's a fox red lab with the most beautiful coloured fur I'm always drawn to the drama of a black and white. I learnt film photography back in the day and loved being in the dark room watching the images develop. Is that why I like this so much or is it simply because he's so damn beautiful? Something about his eyes maybe, I don't know but here's a handsome happy tongue out tuesday for you all to brighten your day!!

'Calista'
It might sound crazy but when I feel overwhelmed or i dont know quite what to do next I like to go back to the beginning, to where things really started for me. Photographing in a rescue shelter is possibly one of the most rewarding things I do. While none of the dogs I photographed were on death row, having a really decent set of pictures can honestly make such a big difference in helping to rehome them. In a world full of phone cameras and AI I still find that you can't beat a real person with experience, intuition and a honed craft. And even better, you can provide a shelter (or any charity for that matter) with a set of images that really helps tell their story, keeps their social media going and helps to highlight some of the amazing work being done out there. Aaaaand.... for those of you wondering..... nope.. you can't adopt Calista because she's already been rehomed! Happy life little miss! ###xx

There are so many reasons to have a pet photoshoot. No matter if they're young, old, due a haircut or untrained. The more I think about it the more reasons I think there are. 'Maiya'
This little sweetie came in a while back after having been a bit poorly but you can see here she's got a little twinkle in her eye again. I've been striving hard recently to find a real painterly quality and something a bit timeless in my photos and it made me so happy recently when people asked me if these were paintings or photos. Can they be both somehow? Doesn't she look like she could be in the corner of an Old Master's portrait? Anyway, I think she makes the perfect subject for my first post of the year and plus, look at her beautiful beard!!! Happy 2026 everyone! And thank you for all your kind words and support through the last 12 months!
