To mark the end of National adoption week, It is with great reluctance that share this self portrait that CORAM insisted I do and it accompanies by adoption story (link in bio). I brought my adopted family together specially at my parent’s house. My mum and dad are incredibly resilient, my mother makes baby clothes for anyone that asks and has sent her beautiful knitted baby hoodies and cardigans to Ukraine 🇺🇦 - my sister discovered a passion for music very early on and has played for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra her entire career.

To celebrate and the centenary of the Adoption of Children Act 1926 myself and Coram have collaborated with adoptive families across the country to produce a series of portraits called ‘Next of Kin’ that explore what adoption means now and will be exhibited on billboards thanks to the generous partnership with BUILDHOLLYWOOD and an exhibition of the series at Coram HQ for the duration of adoption week.

This has been a monumental effort in a short period of time and huge thanks to the dedication and hard work of everyone to make it happen so we can celebrate this important moment in the country’s long proud history of care for children.

This is a deeply personal project for me as an adopted child and I am very grateful for CORAM and the families’ trust and support in the creation of these portraits that I hope show the unconditional love and connection within adoptive families and hopefully they invite everyone to consider it even for moment as a possibility.

Check out the great film by Caitlin Lock Photography and Film of the creation of the portraits and to hear some of the families stories ☝️
