It’s always great seeing live country music.

But when the bands finish and you’re still not ready to call it a day, that’s when Rattlesnake Johnny comes into his own.

Some of my favourite musical memories haven’t come from a headline sets.

They’ve come from a room full of people singing at the top of their lungs, boots on the floor, and Rattlesnake Johnny somehow finding the perfect song at exactly the right time.

If you’re heading to The Long Road , make sure his set is on your checklist. It’s always one hell of a time.

Sometimes the best thing about a film isn’t what you see. It’s what you feel.

The soundtrack in Brand New Day deserves far more attention than it’s getting. Huge credit to and his team for the musical choices throughout, and especially to .lacy whose “oh yeah?” is the perfect way to bring the film home.

There’s one reason that final song works so well… and it has everything to do with New York.

performance of Fear/Hope at was one of those moments where the whole room seemed to slow down. There was something about the honesty in the song and the way she delivered it that had everyone completely locked in.

It’s always a good sign when a support act leaves people talking long after they’ve walked off stage, and Malin absolutely did that.

Many had come for the headliner The Lower Third , but those who arrived early were quickly drawn into Malin Pettersen world. Her emotional storytelling, haunting vocals and delicate guitar work left a real impression before Joshua Ray Walker took to the stage.

There’s something different about hearing songs written by someone who genuinely believed they might not get the chance to write another.

Joshua Ray Walker brought those songs to a venue just as intimate as his lyrics, The Lower Third in London, and every moment felt honest, vulnerable and utterly captivating.

“Somewhere between Incubus and modern outlaw country.”

That’s how I’d describe Jukes ’ new single, Sunburn.

Drawing on his rock heritage, JUKES blends Josh Homme-esque vocals with country strings to create something that feels equally at home on a late-night desert highway as it does on a rock stage. It’s packed with grit, atmosphere and enough swagger to stand out without trying too hard.

Sunburn is a really strong start, and if this is the direction JUKES is heading, I’m excited to see where he takes us next.

The Long Road has found its Saturday headliner, with Ronnie Wood (and His Band) joined by Imelda May . Big shoes to fill after ▫Bailey Zimmerman▫ cancellation, but it’s certainly a booking that nobody saw coming.
