Sniff sniff 👀

What a bug, honestly! In harsh midday light it was sooo hard to capture its beautiful colours; I've spent around 30 minutes kneeling and crawling in dirt. But it was so worth it!

It is a slow bug, but he was hiding in the bluebells collecting pollen like a champ. I am a fan!

Which photo is calling you? 1 or 2? 3 or 4?

1st and 3rd are unedited, just a little denoise and sharpness. There's a huge part of me that prefers it that way. But then I edit a bit there and there, and then the colours pop more, I see more detail, my eyes draw in a bit more... a tough one for me personally to choose.

Herons are one of my favourite birds and I am lucky enough to see so many of them in London.

So imagine, as I walked through the Hampstead Heath gate chatting away with a friend, I stopped as he was just there watching everyone from up high! I quickly drew my camera out and had a few minutes of him posing for me. What a happy day!

Ciaran from might support my vague memory that he is there quite often, as she guides nature walks there.

Originally I thought oh, it's Friday, I'll edit this heron shot I've been putting off for a long time or post some bluebells, but then I found him.

Crows are wonderful. I never actually took the time to try and capture them with my camera. I should do that more often. Their all-seeing look, curious and also somewhat royal.

Beware of a crow, because they can recognise individual faces and can hold grudges against people. You've been warned!
