Hanna & Emanuel's divine Swedish wedding in London exuded understated Nordic elegance and refinement.

They shared the most adorably organic first look moment as Hanna stepped out of the elevator to be greeted by her besotted groom for their beautiful traditional ceremony at The Swedish Church in Marylebone followed by an elevated dinner party of dreams at The Ned.

I haven't added separate audio to this post to allow appreciation of the mind blowing sounds of Need Live (slide 19) who were flown in from Norway to perform. Their opening number to commence the meal was like something from a Spielberg movie or an Oscars awards ceremony!

Goosebumps.

Most importantly for us when we renewed our vows (well certainly for me anyway) we had the most utterly gorgeous family portraits captured by JOANNA BROWN STUDIO which we missed out entirely at our first wedding as the kids were so little and running around all day like puppies!

These, along with all the natural, candid memories living in the moment which were also documented so beautifully for us by Jo, mean the absolute world, especially with Heath moving to Australia in January. It was probably one of the final opportunities to have pictures like this taken all together (and without me being the one behind the camera!) before he goes... until perhaps one of their own wedding days one day!

We've created heirlooms which will be treasured for eternity and rather than oblivious, restless toddlers, it's all the more special that they also actually understood what was going on and the meaning behind it all this time around. Present not only as our children but as our friends, properly sharing in the joy.

It's often said 'your wedding is not about the photos'. For me, this was, and I say that with no hesitation or shame!

I hadn't known 10 years ago (before I was a photographer myself, when documentary-only was very much on trend and I was more inclined to follow whatever was 'in') how important images like these would have been to us later on.

For fear of my being labelled a 'Bridezilla', we pretty much skipped family formals and I've always regretted it.

Never apologise for wanting them and make space for them on the day if they matter to you. They can still be relaxed, authentic and creative and take nothing away from the organic moments, especially if you have a second shooter. Just keep them lighthearted and keep them 'you'. Provided you don't have an endless list, they can actually form such a fun and meaningful part of the experience of your day. There is a real art to nailing them and I adore how despite being posed/guided, these frames still so perfectly encapsulate our little tribe. Joanna is our hero!

The true value of a photograph evolves over time and time is so incredibly precious.

In honour of Georgie ~ 14.10.75 - 17.09.26 🕊️

Adel and Georgie reached out to ask us to document their wedding in August of this year, just days ahead, not knowing whether or not it would actually be possible due to Georgie being terminally unwell with Sarcoma.

Happily, their dreams came true and it was the most magical, heartfelt and positive celebration you could possibly imagine.

Just six short weeks later, Georgie passed away peacefully with her wife's head laid upon her chest, listening to her final heartbeats.

The outpouring of love for Georgie is a testament to her incredible heart, humour, warmth and kindness and her utterly wonderful wife Adel has demonstrated resilience and bravery like I've never known, to keep Georgie's light shining with her poetic words and boundless dedication to their shared mission.

Together as a couple they have worked endlessly to help improve the lives of others in a multitude of ways and have now raised an utterly mind-blowing £23,000 for Sarcoma UK. The coverage to grow awareness for the cause since their wedding day has been absolutely phenomenal.

It's hard to put into words how truly inspiring their story is and Georgie's legacy lives on so brightly through the formidable efforts of her unstoppable, power house wife Adel and their absolutely amazing loyal community.

We want to spread to word as widely as possible to raise awareness for this rare but real, aggressive form of incurable cancer.

On the evening before the wedding, Meryem's Mother made a beautiful reference in her speech to the fact it was immediately evident how deeply Florian loved her daughter in the way he photographed her.

She said it was always clear how he noticed her true inner beauty through his lens and she glowed in every frame.

This sentiment moved me a lot and I felt a responsibility to capture their essence and joy with the same heartfelt care and observation, especially given those thoughtful words and Florian's own passion for the craft.

I certainly fell in love with Meryem & Florian and their family and friends during the 3 days I spent with them and I hope that's palpable in these images, as well of course, as their immeasurable adoration for each other.
