When a leading global financial institution asked us to elevate their conference content beyond typical corporate video, we seized the opportunity to reimagine how financial professionals could be portrayed.
The brief was clear: create something dynamic and cinematic while maintaining the professionalism expected in financial services. Our focus was on making corporate interviews feel engaging without impacting credibility.
Three key takeaways emerged:
🔶Pre-production conversations can change everything: We conducted interviews with each participant before filming. This ensured subjects were comfortable from the start and translated to a natural, upbeat energy on camera.
🔶Environment shapes performance: Instead of sterile conference rooms, we chose warm, professional-yet-casual settings like hotel lobbies. The space immediately shifted how participants felt and behaved, creating the comfortable dynamic we were going for.
🔶Simultaneous capture FTW when scheduling is tough: With tight scheduling constraints for busy executives, we deployed two teams to capture interviewees and b-roll simultaneously. This approach respected everyone’s time while ensuring no compromises in the storytelling department.
The resulting content felt cinematic and polished without losing authenticity. A good reminder that financial services storytelling doesn’t have to choose between professional and engaging!
