A Cavalcade of Canal Boats.
From the recent Canalway Cavalcade in Little Venice - a fantastic, colourful gathering of canal boats in the heart of London. It was amazing to see all the boats proudly decorated, and the happy faces of their owners - showcasing a very unique culture worth celebrating.
As annual events go, this is definitely one worth etching into the calendar.

Rainy London Days.
After the big heatwave last week, the weather turned rather rainy this week. Whilst not necessarily the nicest for walking around, such weather can also produce interesting scenes - umbrellas, reflections and all.

Summertime in London.
London is currently sweltering in the first big heatwave of this year, with temperatures reaching well into the 30s (Centigrade). Hot, sweaty and often uncomfortable, but Londoners are still out and about, braving the heat.
Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to photograph this weekend due to other commitments - but it did make me think of previous hot and sunny weekends - one in particular from last year. Whilst not exactly a full-blown heatwave, it does convey some of what London looks and feels like in the summer.

Postman's Park - The memorial to self sacrifice.
One of those little fascinating gems of London in Postman's Park, right in the City of London. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a little peaceful paradise to get away from the rush. However, it also hosts a genuinely moving monument - that of the memorial to heroic self-sacrifice.
A wall full of dedications to those who have done the ultimate sacrifice to those in danger - a wall full of uplifting and heartbreaking stories.
Well worth a visit for a respite in the midst of the concrete jungle of the City.
