Proof that you don’t have to go far from London to find somewhere completely different for a couple of days. We stayed just outside Cambridge at Meadow Lodge, tucked away in Shelford with a wild meadow right outside.

It’s only 3 miles from Cambridge, so you can spend the day wandering around the old colleges, browsing little shops and stopping for coffee before heading back out of the city. There are also countryside walks nearby, with the Gog Magog Hills and Wandlebury Country Park worth exploring if you fancy getting out into nature.

A little change of scenery without having to travel too far 🍂

AD My first time in San Francisco was also my first time in California and the U.S., and what an introduction it was.

In just four days, I explored the city’s neighbourhoods, viewpoints, waterfront and food scene, visited museums, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and discovered so many places I hadn’t expected to find. San Francisco has that rare combination of iconic sights, beautiful scenery, great food and neighbourhoods that make you want to keep wandering.

Even with only four days, I saw so much, and it still left me wanting more. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
