A big challenge for us entrepreneurs is that we need to put ourselves out there, because if we don’t, the right clients might never find us.

Emma and Mike are two amazing designers who didn’t have a headshot on their profiles or website. But they understood that people hire them because of the professionals they are, not just because of the logo they have.

What I love most about photographing entrepreneurs is encouraging them and making the experience easier when they are in front of the camera. Sometimes it’s about saying the right words, helping them shift their mindset, and reminding them of the value they bring. Then everything else starts to come together naturally.

A photograph can’t create that.

It can only reflect what is already there.

There’s something incredibly special about photographing people whose work resonates so deeply with your own journey.

Photographing Tom and Negin brought me so much joy and a sense of reconnection that is difficult to put into words. What made this experience even more meaningful was that this was the very studio where I once worked as an architect in London.

As a former architect, I spent years thinking about how light moves through a space, how materials feel, how nature interacts with the built environment, and how people experience all of it.

For this photoshoot, we intentionally explored those same elements—light, materiality, touch, nature, and air. Standing there, camera in hand, I realised that although my profession has changed, the things that inspire me remain the same.

I no longer design buildings, but I still find myself searching for the softness of natural light, the texture of a surface, and the connection between people and their surroundings. Architecture taught me how to pay attention. Photography allows me to transform that attention into stories.

Moments like this remind me that changing careers doesn’t mean leaving a part of yourself behind. Sometimes, it simply means finding a new way to express what has always mattered to you.

And for that, I feel incredibly grateful. ✨
