There’s nothing quite like hearing a red deer stag roar during the rut.

Standing amongst the autumn colours, this magnificent stag certainly made his presence known!

One of those moments that makes getting up early with the camera completely worthwhile. 📸❤️

Standing quietly amongst the autumn bracken, this beautiful red deer hind stopped for just a moment, giving me the perfect opportunity to capture her.

There’s something magical about those quiet encounters with wildlife. No rushing, no distractions, just nature doing its thing. 🤎

🦌 THE KING HAS SOMETHING TO SAY! 🍂

Standing tall, antlers on full display and making sure everyone knows who’s boss!

Autumn at Bushy Park means one thing — the red deer rut is in full swing. The air fills with the deep roars of magnificent stags as they compete for dominance and the attention of the hinds.

There’s something incredible about witnessing these powerful animals in their natural environment, especially when the autumn sunlight catches those impressive antlers. 🍁📸

“Shall we?” 🦌

A little lesson during the red deer rut at Bushy Park. 🍂

These two stood face-to-face for a moment before locking antlers for a gentle tussle. But this wasn’t a serious battle — the older stag seemed to be letting the younger one practise, giving him a chance to test his strength and learn the ropes.

I love that this photo caught the moment just before it started. Almost like the youngster was asking…

👑 King of the bracken. 🦌

Autumn at Bushy Park 🍂

A magnificent red deer stag appearing through the bracken, with those incredible antlers rising above the landscape.

Red deer are Britain’s largest native land mammal, and autumn is one of the most dramatic times to photograph them as the annual rut gets underway.

I love how the bracken almost completely hides him in this shot — until you notice those antlers. 👀
