Hello. I'm a retired British Army Veteran, dendrophile, nemophilist exploring Rochdale & Britain through photography with my Olympus cameras & drone.

Following my time in the Army, I discovered a passion for the environment and began to utilize my autism; Photography became a wonderful avenue to explore and engage deeply with my greatest interests: nature and solitude. From the expanse of moorlands to the charm of waterfalls, rivers to wooded areas, the beauty of pastoral scenes to the echoes of bygone industry, and from the grandeur of the Victorian era to remnants of the medieval period; Rochdale is rich in character, which I hope you all appreciate in my photographs. St Bartholomew's, Whitworth.

Brown Wardle drops its heavy shoulder into the valley. In the deep, breathless calm, St Bartholomew’s stands like a block of raw sandstone under a bruised and motionless sky. Before it, the larch ignites—a sudden, fierce torch of autumn rust held against the heavy, silent air.

Originally called 'The Noon Sun'. Named after The Noon Sun Spring - a natural 18th century source of drinking water that was located nearby on Cronkeyshaw. Cronkeyshaw Common then was a largely undeveloped marshy grassland. The Noon Sun Spring naturally broke through the surface.
