October Highlights

We're heading into my favourite part of the year 🎄🎅🎆 but I love to look back on what the last month has brought.

October has been quieter in some ways and busier in others.

The month kicked off with a fantastic shoot with for their upcoming production of Legally Blonde at the in 2027. I cannot wait to share more from our shoot but for now just a little taster, including Olly and I meeting 'Bruiser'. I also got to work for the first time (and won't be the last).

Networking at with . The amazing Emma Wilkinson from presented a seminar on Understanding Neuro Diversity. Emma is incredibly knowledgeable and a passionate advocate for supporting and raising awareness of neuro diversity.
Our host always brings together the best people 🤩 I loved being a table host and the question I posed brought some beautiful answers. More about that in a future post.

Networking with Lincoln. Emily Oxford brought Rachel Knight from TitleSplit.com to give us a crash course on the benefits of title splitting. It was fascinating and great food for thought. It was so nice to catch up with Jen Heppell, Nadine Holroyd and Suzanne Walker-Lee 🤩

A personal highlight was the final treatment for a Basel Cell Carcinoma on my face. I have felt like going into hiding this month while dealing with this (and I probably have been avoiding things 🙈). Looking forward to being a bit more visible now it's healing.

I had the best time with LAODS shooting their commercial imagery for their upcoming production of Legally Blonde!

I got to work with the fabulous han🤍 who is their Elle Woods 😍 and it was so nice to work with the amazing Laura Donnelly | Makeup Artist | Lincolnshire 😍

I've got lots of behind the scenes to share, but it is on lock down until the clients have share the imagery.

🍂 I love September🍂

Why...because life becomes a little more structured after a busy summer holiday, the weather is usually gorgeous with a good mix of sunny days and autumn colours and everyone is excited for a new season!

When I write these posts I usually feel like I haven't been that busy, and then I look at my diary. 🫣

Friday vibes were coffee and a long overdue catch up with the fabulous Gary Mumby at International Bomber Command Centre. ✈️

Gary is, and always has been, an honest voice and a trusted go to person in my world. He is a wealth of knowledge and genuine cares about you as a person, not just as a business owner. He listens and always brings and new and interesting take to things.

I always leave feeling uplifted (which I really needed on Friday) and inspired. I feel very privileged to have him as a confidant, guide, and friend.

And I can honestly say I don't think I would be where I am in business right now without the Hubs team, Gary and Rebecca.

We won't leave it so long between catch ups next time as 2 1/2 hours flew by. 😂

✨ If you haven't been to the IBCC I highly recommend a visit. It is a stunning gem just outside of the city with a great café, shop, and grounds ✨

What truly defines success?

Is it money, big house, sports car or a wall of awards?

For me it is having a business that is sustainable enough that you can take quality time with my family and create memories.

For the first year ever I really feel like I've struck a good balance with work and family.

August has been packed with highlights

🏕️ Camping with friends
🚴 Mountain biking
🏇 Horse riding
🏄 Paddle boarding
🍰 Baking (the kids have made some amazing GF bakes!)
🏖️ Beach days
🌲 Forest walks
🙌 Client days
💪 Onboarding new clients
📸 Networking

But please don't be under any illusion that it hasn't been challenging.

Let's keep things real, this is the 3rd time I've tried to create this post while battling bickering kids.

The summer break also helps refine some essential skills like
✅ Snack based negotiation
✅ Conflict resolution
✅ Domestic MasterChef improv
✅ Chaos containment (my neighbours may disagree)
✅ First Aid (it's not a summer with us if we don't have a trip to A&E)*

*thankfully they glued him back together and he was back on his bike the next day!

Lincoln network we need you!

Our judo club, Cherry Judo, is taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon aiming to complete in just 24 hours to raise funds that will help them take judo beyond the dojo and into the wider community. Supporting younger children, SEND participants, schools, specialist settings and older adults through safe, structured, judo-based activities.

But they need one last piece to make it happen.

Their original transport has fallen through at the last minute and they're urgently looking for a local partner who could support them by providing a 16‑seater minibus from 31 July–2 August.

Can you or anyone in your network support them by providing a minibus in partnership or at a reduced charitable rate?

They’ll cover fuel, return it spotless and give full public recognition across social media, GoFundMe, challenge content and local press. Giving the recognition you deserve for supporting this incredible challenge.

🤩 June Highlights 🤩

In case you were hiding under a rock (which was probably the best place) June was a tad warm.

Anyone else not mind the heat?

I spent last week on location with two amazing brands. Including an afternoon on the beach. Which really didn't feel like work.

This is the first social media post I've ever written so bear with me.

So I thought I'd start this off with a quick intro. My name is Olly, and for the past few days I have been doing work experience with Natural Aspect.

One of the main things I have learnt is that It's who you know, not what you know.

While I attended my first networking event yesterday I talked about what I would like to do in the future. Two people on my table revealed that they knew others within Rolls-Royce, where I would like to have a job in the future. They came back to me that same night with advice from their connections at Rolls-Royce which meant a lot to me as a 14 year old work experience student.
