Ahhh throwback to earlier this year, a wedding I seconded for/with the lovely Anna on the longest day of the year - 21st June.
Bucket list venue as I'd never been but know the area really well (holidays every year, including one where Dotty went missing overnight for about 12 hours, so we searched the area around the country club A LOT! - She turned up on the driveway two doors up from where the Groom got ready at this wedding 🤣)
It's also the perfect excuse to stay at my favourite campsite at Wantisden Park!

Sorry went on a reminiscing tangent there!
Lush venue, lush day, lush couple!
Scones, seaside, sand.
I also seem to remember recreating the lads graveside meme with a very drunk Groomsman (and some willing-to-take-the-piss Groomsmen) 🤣 All whilst Anna is taking nice lovely pictures with the girls on the beach at sunset. Haha we do have a laugh!
Oh and me absolutely USING the pizza van - I was hungry!

As a second photographer, I'm often forgotten about after the wedding. And that's totally ok. I don't expect to be remembered.
I shot with earlier this year and when she wanted to confirm my address I didn't expect to receive this from the lovely couple we photographed together. Such lovely words, and hey! I got remembered! It might have been the million slices of pizza I consumed in the evening / threats to run into the sea at Thorpeness (it was a bit hot) / getting gushy over scones... Or it could have been the photos... Maybe 🤣

Southend-on-Sea Pride 2025! 🥳🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

You're probably wondering why I, a straight cis woman, went to Pride.
Well, it's important.
I'm an ally.
I go to support my friends, old and new.
To protect them.
To provide support.
I'm pretty rubbish and the protection and support thing, but I'm there and I'm trying.
I'm a visible ally.

The need for allies to stand out was so much more obvious at the end of the march, there were some people with signs and a speaker chanting hatred. Hate aimed at my friends. Aimed at me. It wasn't very nice. We were in the march pretty close to the Scouts, who started their own chant, so we all joined in. Louder. Drowning out the hate.
That's why we need more allies.

Once we got into the festival area of Southend Pride it was awash with happiness and calm. There were choirs, singers, drag artists and headlining was the fabulous Jordan Gray.
It was a really good day out and lovely to see so many supporters, both the public and seeing the shops decorated.

Oh and if you've made it this far! Shout out to my little club - Rochford District LGBTQ+ Group - we run regular events, like drinks at a local bar this weekend. If you're local and interested in joining, please do - allies welcome!

Another lovely few days in Wales for Machynlleth Comedy Festival, also got to paddle on Bala Lake, visit the Dyfi Osprey Project, eat plenty of ice cream and stroll along an old viaduct. Lovely 🤗
Now to stock up on Welsh cakes...
