What a sight to see Bluebird K7 finally up on plane on Coniston today with Dave Warby at the controls. After all the mechanical failures and disappointments this week, this moment belongs to Donald Campbell, and to Bill Smith and his team who found the wreck in 1996 and recovered the boat and Donald in 2001 before spending 23 years on a labour of love rebuilding her. Their work is the only reason this machine exists today💙
