Joe and I first started planning this very special shoot back in January. It was his mum’s milestone birthday, and he wanted to create something truly meaningful — a set of fabulous images celebrating her and their wonderful family.

We found a date that worked for everyone, sourced a venue (our studio wasn’t quite big enough for a 14‑person all‑in‑one portrait!), and after lots of chatting, planning and coordination, the big day arrived.

We turned up with our mobile studio and captured this gorgeous family — children, grandchildren, cousins — all gathered together. The whole shoot was built around a simple black sofa, and somehow it helped us capture the essence of who they are: warm, close, joyful and full of love.

Thank you, Joe, for choosing us for such an amazing occasion. We’re so happy that you all love your photographs. And thank you for the lovely food afterwards — it was very much appreciated.

Happy Birthday to your mum — we hope her beautiful portrait takes pride of place on her wall 💛

Celebrating Special Bonds in the Studio! 💖

When Passion Meets Partnership
I absolutely adore what I do, and I absolutely adore working alongside my gorgeous husband Sammy at Sammy Southall Photography. For the past 20 years, we’ve built this incredible journey together. He has taught me so much, given me space to grow, and encouraged me to carve out my own place in this fabulous world.
So when I receive beautiful messages like the one I did this morning, it truly makes my heart sing. It reminds me how proud I am — of him, of us, and of the work we create together.
So yes, I’m going to sing my husband’s praises. Sammy Southall, you are an amazing photographer. You make a difference. And I’m so proud to be part of your world.

Back in the Studio: The Wonderful Hudson Family ✨
We have been the proud family photographers for the glorious Hudson family for over ten years now! Nicola was actually our very first Peggy Sue pin-up when we launched our 1950s Peggy Sue shoots, and we have watched little Immy grow from a tiny baby into a beautiful ten-year-old young lady.

Dad, Jon, is a very keen photographer himself, and he and Sam have shared plenty of great camera conversations over the years—we absolutely adore Jon's passion for the craft! Zac is the newest member of the family, and though we hadn't met him yet, this weekend we finally welcomed them all back to the studio.

We simply adore this family. They are always there for us, always supporting us, always saying wonderful things about what we do, and constantly sharing the love. We are so, so grateful to them.

Nicola, Jon, Immy, and Zac—thank you so much for visiting us on Saturday. We cannot wait to watch your beautiful family continue to grow and be absolutely fabulous.

Oh my goodness, this was one of my first-ever images taken when I began my adventures in the world of photography with Sam at Sammy Southall Photography!

Seventeen years ago, we were wedding photographers as well as being studio-based. I am so incredibly grateful for the support and love of my gorgeous husband, who taught me how to take a wonderful photograph. Over the years, we have seen our business grow, and so many of our brides from way back then have returned to us for family photography and more.

This is Stacy, who married her prince 17 years ago. The glorious little boy in the picture is now all grown up, and last I heard, he is a serious musical actor! We were so honoured to welcome them back to the studio recently for his professional headshots. In another beautiful connection, we also welcomed some of their friends of friends to the studio. It makes it such a wonderful moment to have that lasting connection with our amazing clients—it truly makes my heart sing.

Our last wedding was in 2011, and by that time, we had been a part of 500 couples' special days. Today, we are still right here in our studio, meeting families and creating lovely, lovely moments that we are so deeply grateful for.

Thank you for being part of our journey and our story—we never take that for granted. Here is to the future, all the adventures we have in store, and all the wonderful people we meet in the studio along the way!

Classical Portraits with Bethia

Photography is about the way people come together to create truly special moments, and every family brings their own unique magic to the studio.
Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Akila, Sid, and Myffy, along with their lovely dog Lana, for a very special anniversary photoshoot! It had been years since their last professional session—back when Myffy was only six years old—so it was an absolute joy to capture how much they’ve grown and changed.
The studio was filled with colour and life as we captured them in both their stunning traditional saris and their everyday clothes. It was a beautiful reflection of their family story, and we feel so honoured they chose us to document this milestone.
Akila, Sid, and Myffy: we think you are absolutely fabulous! Thank you for allowing us to be part of these wonderful moments.

We were thrilled to welcome Patryk to the studio this past Friday! As an actor, he brought a striking, "dark and moody" energy to his portfolio session. By capturing his range in both vibrant colour and timeless black and white, we gave the collection a truly classic, cinematic feel.
