Today is World Holocaust Memorial Day, and more than ever we need Holocaust education.

There is much I could add - the frightening global rise of open antisemitism, the awful trauma experienced by Jews since Oct 7th layered upon this collective historical trauma, the denial of atrocities, the propaganda that led to the vilification and then extermination of 6 million Jews, the question I have always asked myself - what would I have done? the stories of Holocaust survivors of which I am most deeply connected to two - Adam & Alicia Melamed Adams, to whom I gave a promise that I would not let their story be forgotten.... so. many. individual. stories.

I began writing this with tears. We have arrived at a point in history where we all will be asked to answer the question - 'what will I do?'

I am posting a page from my grandmothers passport - she stood, a diminishing Jewish woman, hiding her identity before a N**i soldier in order to escape Europe, and made her way somehow to the UK, where she chose to fight. Without her courage and sacrifice I would not be here, nor would her huge wonderful family of descendants (none of whom she knew - including her only child). If I need an example to dig deep, she and a multitude of others provide it.

I have also included a link to a memorial page I created to remember each member of my mothers family who were murdered. There are more names to add. These are the ones I have recovered so far..

100 days of incomprehensible heartbreak and devastation. Please read or listen to (link at the bottom) this incredibly moving interview with the father of 22 year old Hamas hostage, Daniel Peretz. Rabbi Doron Peretz is the Executive Chairman of the World Mizrachi movement and a highly respected rabbi. He is also a father longing for his son.

Yad Binyamin, Israel 31/12/2023 - Jennie Milne The following is a deeply moving interview with Rabbi Doron Peretz, graciously given during a time of great personal anxiety and tension. His youngest son Daniel, 22 is missing in action and believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas during their h

Headed to London tonight to speak at Wimbledon Synagogue and Roehampton University about the work I created with Jewish victims of terrorism in Israel, 2018. Some of their portraits are included in an Exhibition in both places...Wimbledon tomorrow, and Roehampton on Thursday
It's an honour to tell these incredible individuals stories and to raise awareness of these horrific attacks, which number in the 1000s.

'I set My rainbow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth.'

I am grateful for this today. My thoughts are with my Ohio family.

Time the other side of the camera this week, filming with Aberdeen City Council for Holocaust Memorial Day 2021. Much harder than I anticipated, but such an important subject. It is always an honour to speak on behalf of survivors, and reminds me continually we should stand against all forms of antisemitism in our own generation.

We must never forget. In the words of Eli Wiesel 'To listen to a witness is to become a witness'
