EnaMay Photography specialises in birth, pregnancy, newborn, family and wedding photography.

I am happiest with my camera by my side, whether it’s working on a wedding shoot or walking in the hills with my children. Engagement shoots, weddings, children, family and animal portraits or landscapes; I am passionate about creating photos that perfectly capture your memories. EnaMay is a photography business that was formed in August 2012 and is named after my children – my daughter Ena and my son Ruaridh who was born in May. It’s since having my children that I was able to start turning my passion into my business. Raised on the Isle of Mull and now living the outdoor life in a small Scottish Borders town, I can often be found walking in the hills with my family including our dog Fingal. “How can I book newborn photographs when I don’t know when baby will arrive?”

Your baby hasn’t checked their diary. But we can get you in mine.

We pop in your your due date, then once your wee one is here, you let me know and we arrange your session together. You don’t need to predict their birthday.

There’s been a wee flurry of bookings for late November and December, and my January diary is open too.

If you wait until baby arrives to book, I can’t guarantee I’ll have space. Booking during pregnancy means it’s one less thing to think about when you’re settling in together.

And if you’d love photographs of your bump too, there’s £100 off when you book your maternity and newborn sessions together.

😭 You can’t come on Saturday 24 October. Here’s why…

The whole morning is booked by families who have been before. For some, this will be their fourth year coming back for pumpkin photographs!

It’s become a wee autumn tradition. Wellies on, a wander through the pumpkins and a fresh set of family photographs. Each year, the children are that little bit bigger, and I get to capture the next chapter.

🖤The Black Cabin

Out beyond Oban,
tucked into the hills
and just far enough away.

Black timber.
Green hills turning gold.
Big skies and views that just keep going.

Clean lines.
Smooth, sharp, beautifully simple.
Turn the corner
and the cabin opens itself to the view.

Inside, dark walls. Warm wood.
Every little detail just so.

A little w**e.
A little dine.
A little losing track of time.

Hot tub under an autumn sky.
Cold air on warm skin.
A ridiculously comfortable bed.
Long mornings.
Later nights.

Craftsmanship everywhere.
Secluded enough to disappear.
Chic enough to never want to leave.

No rush.
No real plans.
Just the rather lovely feeling
of being whisked away.

A little black cabin,

very happily
off the radar.

✨The best thing you can do before your newborn session?

Try not to worry about getting everything perfect.

My newborn sessions are completely baby led, so if baby needs fed, we feed them. If they need cuddled, changed or settled, we do that too.

A sleepy baby definitely helps, but there is always time to work around what your baby needs. These sessions are never rushed.

You really don’t need to arrive with everything under control. That’s not how newborns work anyway. 🤍

✨One of the questions I’m asked all the time is…

“Can siblings be in the newborn shoot?”

Absolutely. In fact, I think it would be really silly if they weren’t.

Yes, we’re celebrating your new baby, but we’re also documenting your family exactly as it is in this moment. Tiny hands holding their new brother or sister. The cuddles. The cheeky smiles. The little personalities that will change so quickly.

These photographs aren’t just for your newest addition. They’re for all of your children to look back on one day.

And let’s be honest… these are the photos you’ll treasure far more than the school ones. 🤍
