After last week's peaceful visit to Warnham Nature Reserve, something different last weekend with a visit to a rather noisier Brand Hatch for the London Historic Trophy Weekend.�

Highlight for me was the RAC Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy featuring a range of pre-1956 and pre-1961 sports cars.��

It has been a while since I have been to Brands Hatch, and couldn’t remember the best photo spots on the GP circuit. So spent a while walking the whole circuit trying out various points where the chainlink fencing didn’t spoil the shots.
Ended up shooting from Hawthorn Hill, Hawthorn Bend, Inside Druids, Outside Druids and finally Clearways.

A very pleasant relaxing sunny morning at Warnham Nature Reserve, with the hides being nice and quiet and plenty of photo opportunities across the whole reserve.
Managed to get some semi decent photos of a Tern swallowing a rather large fish, possibly a Roach.

Finally got around to editing some of my eventful trip to Orkney in April. With my main camera and lens being smashed on the rocks by a gust of wind blowing over my tripod on day one, I had to make do with my back up camera and lens. Still, I managed to get some decent shots on what was an excellent Colin Prior workshop, at a fantastic location for Landscape Photography.

The season at Hurtwood Polo Club finally got underway this weekend with the Bray Cup competition. �

The victorious team of the first tournament of the year were LBF.

With new owners in place and major improvements to the club already evident, and more exciting improvements in the pipeline, the members have a lot to look forward to over the course of the season.

An evenly fought match between Broadbridge Heath FC Women and Official Burgess Hill Town FC Women with the visitors holding on in the last ten minutes to go away with a well deserved 1-2 victory

The West Ham and Leeds players must have been secretly watching the Chichester Charity Cup semi-final on Saturday, as their FA Cup match on Sunday was a mirror image of the match between Rustington F.C Reserves and Ashington FC - Sussex.�
With Ashington taking a two goal lead and seeming strolling into the final with only a couple of minutes left ion the clock, Rustington staged an amazing comeback and scored two goals in the final minutes of the match, taking the game into a penalty shoot-out.
Unlike the West Ham/Leeds match, it was the team that was 2-0 down that kept up their late form and Rustington came out winners of the shootout 4-3, and progress to the final against Hunston Community Club.

An entertaining game between Broadbridge Heath FC Women and Eastbourne Town FC Women, with two committed and skilful teams going toe-to-toe in a 3 - 3 draw.

The clash of the top two turned out to be a one sided match, when division leaders Henfield Football Club, despite scoring first, came out second best to second placed Ashington FC - Sussex, going down 7 - 1 to a very strong and youthful team. The result means that Ashington Rovers climb above Henfield and now top the table.

It was a 4G weekend. Firstly on Saturday Henfield took on West Chiltington on the 4G pitch at The Forest School, then on Sunday Horsham Women played hosts to Broadbridge Heath Women, on the 4G pitch at the The Fusion Aviation Community Stadium.�

Finally, on the last day of February, after weeks of postponements due to waterlogged pitches, Henfield FC played their first match of 2026.
Even the sun came out during the match, but it was not to be Henfield’s day, going down 2-1 to Upper Beeding Reserves.
