Know your photographer!
Know what you want.
If you are thinking about booking me for a photo shoot there are some things you need to know.
I don’t do vain, I will not make you look like a super model!
If you are looking for me to make you look like a different person to the one you see in the mirror, I categorically will not do this.
If this is you DO NOT BOOK ME!
I am a photographer who photographs the truth of what is in front of me. I don’t mold my subjects to fit.
You are what makes the picture.
If you are happy being the perfect person you already are, warts and all. If you are ready for real, relaxed, natural photos that reflect you and your horse, dog, whatever let’s chat :)
I wrote a whole blog post a few years ago about making sure you choose the right photographer for your shoot.
Recently I gave a photo shoot away to someone as a promotion. It turned out they had pre-conceived ideas about my shoots and how I work because of shoots they had had with other photographers in the past.
It’s very important that you research your photographer and know exactly what you are getting and how they work. If you are not sure please ASK the photographer and don’t make assumptions based on previous experiences you may have had. We don’t all work the same way , charge the same prices or offer the same things.
There is a bit of a thing in the world of photography that photos have to ‘tell a story’
There is nothing wrong with a pretty picture. Imagery can be art without having to hide some deeper meaning. There is nothing wrong with simply you and your pet being together, freezing a moment in time. That is its own story.
But if you have a specific vision, if you want a different story I am all up for helping you tell it! :)
