She told me she was nervous.

She’d never done a shoot like this before. She didn’t know what to expect, how she’d feel, or whether she’d be able to let go enough to really embrace it.

Then she stepped in front of my camera… and absolutely S M A S H E D I T. 🔥

And then we put her in a water tank….

Because sometimes the version of yourself you’re waiting to meet is hiding just behind the nerves.

Chanel didn’t need to become someone else for this shoot. She just needed to trust herself, trust the process, and realise that she was already capable of so much more than she thought.

This is what bo***ir can be. Not just beautiful photographs.

It can be permission to take up space. To be seen. To feel powerful. To try something completely outside your comfort zone and discover that you bloody love it.

Chanel, you were incredible. And I hope you look at these images and see what I saw behind my camera:

A woman who dared herself to do something new… and absolutely owned it. 🖤

📸 Fancy spending a day surrounded by people who just get photography?

Next month, I’ll be joining an incredible lineup of photographers for a day of talks, demos, inspiration and a healthy dose of fun…and I genuinely can’t wait.

I’ll be taking to the stage The BIPP Big Bash at Stephanie Thornton studio in Castleford with a talk and demonstration:

✨ Sass, Shadow and Seriously Good Photos - How lighting, confidence, and a dash of attitude create unforgettable bo***ir portraits.

✨The Secret Sauce of Bo***ir Talk - Spoiler: It’s not the camera, the lingerie, or Photoshop.

We’ll dive into how I use light, shadow, posing and connection to celebrate the landscape of the body and create images that are about so much more than lingerie. Because the real magic of bo***ir isn’t what someone wears. It’s how they feel when they leave.

Expect practical tips you can take away, a few behind-the-scenes secrets, and enough sass to keep things interesting. 😉

But here’s the best bit…

I’m just one of a fantastic lineup. There’ll be a whole host of incredibly talented photographers sharing their knowledge, different styles, creative approaches and years of experience.

Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been shooting for years, you’ll leave with fresh ideas, new techniques and a notebook full of inspiration.

Photography can sometimes feel like a solo journey. Events like this remind us that it’s a community.

I’d absolutely love to see some familiar faces there. If you’re coming, let me know so I can come and say hello!

Some people are handed chapters they never asked to write.

Olivia’s story is one of them.

After sustaining burns to 40% of her body in an isopropyl fire, she could have let that experience define the rest of her life. Instead, she’s choosing something extraordinary

Meeting Olivia reminded me that resilience isn’t pretending everything is okay. It’s continuing to move forward while carrying everything that’s happened to you.

Her scars tell a story.

Not of what she lost.
But of what she survived.

Strength doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it’s simply getting out of bed. Sometimes it’s learning to look in the mirror again. Sometimes it’s standing in front of a camera and allowing yourself to be truly seen.

Not because healing is easy.
Not because every day feels positive.
But because she refuses to let one moment steal the person she is.

If you’ve been following Olivia’s journey, I’ve shared the full story over on my blog. It’s one that deserves to be read, because I know it will give hope to someone who needs it today.

✨ Link on today’s stories.

Olivia, thank you for trusting me to photograph this chapter of your journey. You are proof that our circumstances may shape us, but they don’t have to decide who we become. ❤️

I still laugh when I think about how I became a photographer.

Because it wasn’t part of some grand plan, a five-year vision board, or a childhood dream.

I was an accounts assistant who was deeply unhappy in my job. After a year, I literally got up, encouraged by my mum, walked out, and decided I couldn’t spend another day doing something that didn’t feel right.

I needed another job quickly, and I came across an advert for a family photographer with full training provided.

The funny part? I’d never even held a professional camera before.

Most people would have talked themselves out of applying. I just thought, “How hard can it be?” 😅

That one decision changed the entire course of my life.

It’s easy to look at people doing what they love and assume they’ve always known exactly where they were heading. But often, they just said yes to an opportunity before they felt ready.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need years of experience.
You don’t need to feel 100% confident.

Sometimes you just need to take the first step and trust that you’ll figure the rest out along the way.

Bet on yourself. Apply for the job. Start the business. Learn the skill.

You might be one brave decision away from a life you love ✨

What’s one thing you’ve done that completely changed the direction of your life?

People often think empowerment has to look a certain way. That confidence only counts when you’re wearing less.

But that’s never been what this experience is about.

Sometimes empowerment looks like lingerie. Sometimes it looks like your favourite jeans and a cosy knit. Sometimes it looks like walking into a studio feeling nervous and leaving with your head held a little higher.

Krystyna chose to show up exactly as herself, fully clothed, and that was every bit as powerful.

Because bo***ir isn’t about what you take off. It’s about what you reclaim. Your confidence. Your story. Your space. And that has nothing to do with how much skin you show.

This is your reminder that you don’t have to fit a mould to deserve to feel beautiful, powerful, and seen. 🤍

The wolf came looking for Little Red. He found the huntress instead. 🐺❤️

Red didn’t lose her way. She rewrote the fairytale…in lace and leather. 🔥

“Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?” - Not the woman wearing the cape. 😉🖤

Proof that bo***ir doesn’t have to mean lingerie and bare skin.

Charlotte brought her tarot cards, leaned into what made her feel grounded and confident, and created something deeply personal.

Every choice in this shoot reflected her energy, her comfort, her story.

Bo***ir is about expression, not exposure. 🔮✨
