Let me reintroduce myself….
It’s been a while & I’ve noticed lots of lovely new faces following along recently, so I thought it was about time I told you a little more about the person behind the camera. Hi, I’m Sophie, the photographer behind Stanymyr Photography 📸
Photography has always been a huge love of mine, but around 2015 I decided to take that love a little more seriously & turn my hobby into something much more. Since then, I’ve been incredibly lucky to have my work shown in the Tate Modern & featured in several magazines, including the front cover of a French fashion magazine!
On my bucket list is to photograph a celebrity & a birth, not necessarily in that order 😆
My absolute favourite subjects to photograph will always be newborn babies. There is just something so special about capturing those tiny details & fleeting first moments that families can treasure forever.
A little fun fact about me; I actually spent a year & a half working with Bounty, photographing newborn babies in hospital within their first 24 hours of life. So it’s safe to say I’ve cuddled, soothed & photographed quite a few tiny humans over the years!
Away from the camera, my most important role is being Mum to Alfie, who is quite simply the love of my life. Alfie is autistic & being his mum has given me a personal understanding of neurodiversity that has become incredibly valuable in my photography too.
It means a lot to me to create a relaxed, patient & understanding environment where children & adults with additional needs (& their families) can feel comfortable, supported & completely themselves. There’s never any pressure to sit still, smile on cue or do things a certain way. We work at your pace.
So that’s a little bit about me!
If you’ve been here for years, thank you for sticking around & if you’re new here, hello & welcome 😌
